How to Update the Firmware of any Samsung Soundbar| Samsung Q990C Wireless Dolby Atmos

Just a heads up to those using updating to v1004. The firmware removes the option to use the addon SWA-9500S speakers in the front position for an expanded front stage. With v1004, you can only use them as rear speakers. Credits - u/pcmraaaaace

If you do not want to use Rear speakers behind and want to keep them in the front itself beside TV, to expand the sound stage, it was possible in V.1002 through smart things apps. Now with V.1004 the app would not give the option to arrange rear speakers as front channels. I hope this clears your doubt.

Don't find any difference as such but many have claimed that eARC issues have been reduced with the new firmware version.

@@rohithibare4609 hi... You cannot... The firmware is model specific. People have tried 990c with 990b firmware too and it didn't work. What exactly you are expecting by updating though?

@@IAmGizmogeek Thanks bro.. post update to 1004 some of options has been opted out regarding rear speakers as you rightly mentioned. Output of sound is been suppressed actually as compared to 1002. In 1002 the sounds were very vocal and loud. It has become more bassy sound and vocal has suppressed. M not sure if the sound has been improved but quite not happy. Can we go back to 1002 Mate, Is it possible?? I checked in 1011 firmware in 990d and now we have 1015 firmware on samsung website and I see all rear speakers options n many more

@@rohithibare4609 Actually I could still see the rear speaker to front changing option. I am on 1004.0. Downgrade should be possible I guess, need to check. Did you try Adaptive sound mode, that's the best one.

Can you try to upload latest firmware from q990d? They say Q990d musix sounds better

You mean install Q990d firmware on Q990c? I don't think it supports cross model updates.

The Atmos is felt only in specific scenarios... Like rain, a chopper, thunder storm, birds etc .. remaining time is mostly quiet and not noticeable at all.
