Thanks, Richard. The top tip here is putting the map into satellite mode. For me, where I have my mavic 3 classic following me in my boat, I can't have the comfort of knowing that I can safely get to ground without worrying that it may land on the water. Well done, brother 👏

This is a must watch if you are unsure of how to update / change your Home Point or RTH point. In case of emergencies, this knowledge could save your drone from being lost.

Thanks for your test. There are extreme situations that you can have when you fly far away, and you go by boat, moto, bike or car... the remote control can turn off, or if it is mobile when there is strong sun or too much heat the screen becomes very dark and you no longer have possibilities of changing home point and if you are in the sea, mountains or a lake you have to go quickly to look for the drone it before it lands and if you are lucky find it. thxs

So if you set the new home point to the controller and keep walking will the update continue to follow the controller or do you need to keep updating it, say your in a moving boat and you select the controller for your new home point and your still moving, will it follow the controller or land at the point where the controller was when you updated the home point ? Thanks
@RichardFiske03112 жыл бұрын
Hi Ron, good question. To be honest I'm not 100% sure, I think it would fly to the where the controller was, because it would use the GPS coordinates set. But it would probably be a safe option to reset to the new controller position. Maybe it would be a good idea to give it a try and see what it does ?

While updating home point does it require to connect the drone wifi with Mobile data?
@christophersmith-zn2kn Жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, I only have two of the three symbols showing on my map. I don't seem to be seeing the symbol for my controller. The only symbols I can see is my drone symbol and the homepoint symbol. Do you have any ideas why it's not showing.
@RichardFiske0311 Жыл бұрын
Hiya, thats weird, have you made sure you have all the latest updates. I must admit, I've not flown for a while, so maybe the systems have changed, but I would have thought that having the controller as a symbol option was still a fundamental part of the safety features

if my drone have a range of 4km, could i start the drone, set a homepoint 15km away, and then when i press" return to home", it will fly the 15km by it self?
@RichardFiske0311 Жыл бұрын
Hi I think you mean 1.5km not 15kms, and yes, the drone would fly to the new home point 😀
@josefinandersson7646 Жыл бұрын
@@RichardFiske0311 no, i really ment 15km. Beccause if i have a 4km range limit, it would be awesome to have it fly 15km all by it self.

Hello Richard where in Spain do you live? I am thinking about getting a drone but don't know the Spanish law, eg registering, licence and insurance. it will be a sub 250 gr one I live in Almeria province, in Cuevas del Almanzora, I have liked and subscribed as I enjoyed your video Thanks John

It's a small world. Do you have to register yourself, where do you fly your drone? I will just be doing it for fun, not in towns, Is the DJI mini 2 a good start-up drone. They look good fun and the camera on them is very good. I will keep looking for new videos. John

Hello im trying to update home point on my dji mini3 using rc remote and they asking for internet connection
@RichardFiske03112 жыл бұрын
Hi Emel, it will probably need internet for the map so that it is able to know where you are and for you to change it on that map interface. If you are using your phone as the viewing it should get it from that. You are able I believe to download the maps first before flying.
