Mine's in a 56 F-350 factory lincoln ECU Y-block. Had a neighbor owned a 56 F-250 factory lincoln ECU with the Ford-O-Matic. Mine still runs.

Hello with extra height from the spacer ,will there be enough room for the stock air cleaner for the hood on a 57 mercury to shut??

I have the same question too but I see you have no answer. I’m going to guess that an air cleaner adapter would retrofit the stock air cleaner to the new carb. Everything assemble should fit under the hood. Check height from manifold surface to top of air cleaner on stock set up. Then measure up the new set up. Now it may sound silly but silly putty or play dough on top of air cleaner to see how much clearance you have left over might give you an idea how much room you have to play with. I would put on a couple to three inches, close the hood to compress the putty/dough. Then measure the compressed height. Hope this helps.
