Just about any truck that worked on 1.35 should also work on 1.38. If you have a mod that doesn't, it's likely a unique issue. My first suggestion would be trying to get in touch with whoever made the mod and let them know it's broken.

That's a problem with the textures. Unfortunately I still don't understand how texture mapping works..., you'd be better off asking someone like Half-Fast Gaming who's a bit more experienced with 3d modeling.

You'd need to open it in a 3D modeling program that supports the current game version(eg blender, ZModeler3) and re-export it.

But I wouldn't bother with that, an older .pmg doesn't slow the game down or cause it to crash.

There are no specific process of converting mod from ats to ets, I can use ets mods in ats normally... so you also can do it.

(Official, from SCS) if you install the updater on your computer it should walk you through updating your game to current version. Every time a new update comes out, you'll have to run the updater again.

Unfortunately, trailers work slightly differently than trucks, and I'm not yet proficient enough in updating them to properly explain it. I believe Half Fast Gaming might have done a video on this topic though.
