I ended up backing up everything to a spare SD card just in case. I followed these instructions and the first thing my tabled did was format the Sd card when the OS started up, glad i saved everything first separately!

For those having a problem with no virtual keyboard - do this! Go to Settings > System > Language & input > Physical Keyboard > Turn on Show Virtual Keyboard

Excellent Tip Gerald. Indeed, keyboard was no longer working. Good to add: skip all steps (e.g. connecting to Wifi) at the start, then follow your tip, then connect to Wifi, Google, etc.

Thank you for this, it worked, new life to my old Galaxy Note 10. For those with a MISSING onscreen KEYBOARD, this worked for me: Go to System - Language&Input- physical keyboard, then slide the button on for 'show virtual keyboard'.

This is a wonderful Tutorial because I could revitalize my aging NT-8010 with Android 9. My whole familie is pleased with all the previous apps, especially KZbin. What I found quite tedious is that I haven't figured out how to control the brightness for a long time. I had to use a magnifying glass to find out how, because the display was so dark! At 10:57 when click to open brown TWRP Folder to paste copy of lineage and open_gapps, I notice I don’t already have the white twrps file 1.00 kb there??? Then fast-forward to 12:40 when doing the second step to swipe to confirm flash of open_gapps, it paused around 13:29 and don’t continue, showing a different layout like it says Gigantic OPEN GAPPS and "installing core gapps and tablet shut off. Can’t seem to pass this step. I’m think I’m missing that extra white twrp file on 12:40. I’m clueless and to make things worse, after successfully following all the steps to this point that I’m sure didn’t miss a step, now my tablet doesn’t recognize to even take charge like it use because of the possibility these steps to erase so many instructions, like the instruction to take charge. I know this may be a loss cause already because of an old Samsung tablet. But I hate to trash a perfectly new barely use for years / old scratch-less tablet that could be useful and not go into the dumpster or dumpsite. Any suggestions from successful nostalgic Samsung Tablet users??? Updated. I figure it out. May 22, 2024

@Orenda Gezellig You will need to find the N8000 version of twrp, Lineage OS, and Gapps. The other stuff is the same since its for your computer to connect to a Samsung device.

I applied the flash to a GT-N8000, it's works just fine. Although on the OS level the device is recognised as a GT-N8010, so cellular 3G may not work. I haven't checked this, as I only use wifi. Completely usable though, give it a crack!

Mine have the exact same problem but the thing is battery lasts very long (it lasts for at least 3 days) but it takes waaaaay to long to charge. I’m using the original charger i also tried other chargers but nope it doesn’t work.

found a regedit that got the pgms to run. was having a uac block. also wasn't using oem usb charging cable which caused an odd issue with pc validating the usb device, but after all that, this update has given new life to my old samsung tablet and I want to thank you. Brilliant explanation, just one complaint-i got it working only to have no keyboard input😩took me a bit of messing around to find out how to turn it on. You have to go into accessibility settings and turn on the virtual keyboard. Once i had that sorted was stoked as i have breathed new life into an 11 yr old tablet👍

Hi ivan, I have one of these tablets, with very similar problems.. however, if I click the you tube app, the message I get is ‘check network connection’. There is no problem using the samsung internet browser, and I can browse the the net. Which is where I found your video. If I try to watch the vid it messages me about the network. Any ideas?

In the right down corner there is a little symbol to activate the keyboard manually, after you have wifi and logged in into your google Account, you can then download for example swift key from the playstore.

@@Thanuraeranga But.... As far As I can say it now, the extra functions of the pen dont work anymore (the 2 keys on the pen to do a screenshot) and i think that the audio quality of the speakers is a bit worse now (not sure if that is true) but it seems like they sound worse now (30% worse).

Hi, it worked wonderful at first, having downloaded youtube, surfed internet and after downloading malwarebytes antivirus, suddenly rebooted... So started lineage logo as shown in minute 14:20 and moves and moves but never finishes... tried to repeat all the process once again but when arriving to Teamwin app, then starts again same image of lineage logo circle moving to the left. Would you mind letting me know what to do now, I was so thankful but now need a bit of your so good coaching, thank you!

I just came across this video, you gave me some hope I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT -N8013 it stopped updating years ago and I don't have a computer how do I upgrade the system to the latest version a different way ?

At 10:57 when click to open brown TWRP Folder to paste copy of lineage and open_gapps, I notice I don’t already have the white twrps file 1.00 kb there??? Then fast-forward to 12:40 when doing the second step to swipe to confirm flash of open_gapps, it paused around 13:29 and don’t continue, showing a different layout like it says Gigantic OPEN GAPPS and "installing core gapps, and tablet shut off. Can’t seem to pass this step. I’m think I’m missing that extra white twrp file on 12:40. I’m clueless and to make things worse, after successfully following all the steps to this point that I’m sure didn’t miss a step, now my tablet doesn’t recognize to even take charge like it use because of the possibility these steps to erase so many instructions, like the instruction to take charge. I know this may be a loss cause already because of an old Samsung tablet. But I hate to trash a perfectly new barely use for years / old scratch-less tablet that could be useful and not go into the dumpster or dumpsite. Any suggestions from successful nostalgic Samsung Tablet users??? Updated. I figure it out May 22, 2024

Does the stylus still work? Also in the original OS, there were some options for the stylus like battery savings etc.
