For those having a problem with no virtual keyboard - do this! Go to Settings > System > Language & input > Physical Keyboard > Turn on Show Virtual Keyboard

Excellent Tip Gerald. Indeed, keyboard was no longer working. Good to add: skip all steps (e.g. connecting to Wifi) at the start, then follow your tip, then connect to Wifi, Google, etc.

This is a wonderful Tutorial because I could revitalize my aging NT-8010 with Android 9. My whole familie is pleased with all the previous apps, especially KZbin. What I found quite tedious is that I haven't figured out how to control the brightness for a long time. I had to use a magnifying glass to find out how, because the display was so dark! I ended up backing up everything to a spare SD card just in case. I followed these instructions and the first thing my tabled did was format the Sd card when the OS started up, glad i saved everything first separately!

My only (very, very minor) complaint is that I ordered this in bronze and they sent me black. Yes, it should have been corrected, but we were only in country for a short period of time and I didn't want to run the risk of not getting a new one in time. I'm such a fan of Samsung Galaxy tablets that I'd rather suck it up than lose out on having it. In the big scheme of things, this rates an irritant factor of .0000000001 out of 1000. In other words, I'm not looking at the colors when I use it, so I got over it very easily.

@@littlegeniuskids I just re-did the exercise (except the backup bit). Somewhere down near the end of the task is the ability to connect the keyboard (forget exactly where), and you need to READ THAT CLOSELY (because I didn't first time)

At 10:57 when click to open brown TWRP Folder to paste copy of lineage and open_gapps, I notice I don’t already have the white twrps file 1.00 kb there??? Then fast-forward to 12:40 when doing the second step to swipe to confirm flash of open_gapps, it paused around 13:29 and don’t continue, showing a different layout like it says Gigantic OPEN GAPPS and "installing core gapps and tablet shut off. Can’t seem to pass this step. I’m think I’m missing that extra white twrp file on 12:40. I’m clueless and to make things worse, after successfully following all the steps to this point that I’m sure didn’t miss a step, now my tablet doesn’t recognize to even take charge like it use because of the possibility these steps to erase so many instructions, like the instruction to take charge. I know this may be a loss cause already because of an old Samsung tablet. But I hate to trash a perfectly new barely use for years / old scratch-less tablet that could be useful and not go into the dumpster or dumpsite. Any suggestions from successful nostalgic Samsung Tablet users??? Updated. I figure it out. May 22, 2024

thqnk you so much!!! it worked perfectly, if you follow the exact steps, and before you do this save your personal files, and do a factory reset , and then follow how he says and it works, then you have to activate the keyboard in the language times/ language & input / physical keyboard and activate show virtual keyboard

@Orenda Gezellig You will need to find the N8000 version of twrp, Lineage OS, and Gapps. The other stuff is the same since its for your computer to connect to a Samsung device.

I applied the flash to a GT-N8000, it's works just fine. Although on the OS level the device is recognised as a GT-N8010, so cellular 3G may not work. I haven't checked this, as I only use wifi. Completely usable though, give it a crack!

Mine have the exact same problem but the thing is battery lasts very long (it lasts for at least 3 days) but it takes waaaaay to long to charge. I’m using the original charger i also tried other chargers but nope it doesn’t work.

found a regedit that got the pgms to run. was having a uac block. also wasn't using oem usb charging cable which caused an odd issue with pc validating the usb device, but after all that, this update has given new life to my old samsung tablet and I want to thank you.
