Also do we need to take the crown gear to do this operation and after the install do i need to do slow turning full lock on one side and then the other to break in ? Thanks for this detailed video i just got my new stage 3 kit last week so i am very happy to see this video :)

No need to dismantle ring gear. You can do without that. Also break-in is not necessary. Just soak all parts in oil before assembly.

@@RacingDiffs thanks for the tip, also i bought motul oil with special lsd additive will it be ok to use with this , and just realised on my set i have two different type of preload shims one is the thin and 4 corners dimpled, like on your video the other is thick and no dimples ?

hi by the way a 210k(e39 530d) ring and pinion won't fit a normal 210 diff right?

They won't. There is a difference in pinion length which is crucial.

@@RacingDiffs all i find is 2.56 or 2.64 of the tds, i hope it won't affect the drivability original is 2.35 Thank you!

Is the Oil Shim at 8:35 placed correctly? It is installed with notch pointing to outside of carrier, while first Oil Shim at 4:42 is placed with notch pointing inside. Gathering info for diff rebuild and as someone was there before in my case, i'm struggling with placement of Oil Shims. Or they just should be pointing outside of carrier, on both sides?

Hello, a question, how does it work that I have 4 clutch packs in my diff body without any changes, especially your race pack stg 2? greetings marcus

Hello Marcus, the cap that you get in our STG 2 is different dimensions. You can check out the video for more info. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYWweIOuh7CFpNk And if it is 210mm LSD unit, then clutch plates and preload shims are different thickness so they all fit perfectly without need to grind anything.

If i just upgrade my old lsd to 4clutch pack and put it together do i need to check backlash etc, if i use old bearings?

Not at all. Just make sure you don't mix up left and right adjustment shims.
