Hope that JAS is better then one I had previously. Only lasted 13 months. Won't use them again. Do hope you have better luck however.

@videoShowmehow Your main connection at the battery should have gone to the terminal closest to the battery terminal. The 170A mega fuse you installed was to replace the 120A fuse in the terminal. Hense you should not have reconnected to the fuse side as the 120A fuse is not big enough when the alternator is at full current output and will blow. Great install video as always.

@@VideoShowMeHow I fitted mine over the weekend, to my 23 BT50, your install video was a great help. Another thing I noticed was that the supplied positive cabling was much larger gauge than existing (as expected). The existing negative cabling was larger gauge than the upgraded supplied cabling (down to the motor), It was similar size to the new positive cable. I upgraded the positive cabling and the negative to the frame and left the one to the motor as is.
@davidrobinson9902 ай бұрын
@@PeteSmith114I think the negative cable is supposed to piggyback with the factory cable, not replace it. That’s what the instructions mentioned anyway. Cheers

Another great video I have followed many of your excellent videos in upgrading my D-MAX. It appears that the D-Max is built for a price point, eg Tyres, Alternator, Battery, Suspension all upgraded. This explains why after a day's driving my 400Ah caravan batteries were still not charged thru the 50A DC2DC charger. What is the torque on the alternator pulley ?
@VideoShowMeHow2 ай бұрын
I think it's like any new car like this these days, it's built for that warranty period, as soon as you take it out of its comfort zone it will do it, but like any aftermarket there's better options for components out there
@jarradmcdonald28953 ай бұрын
Have you struggled at all with the 90A? That's a pretty decent output really. Especially when JAS alternators are junk
@VideoShowMeHow3 ай бұрын
Yep 90 ain't enough, bugger all headroom when you're running some gear and like I said in the video have a 50 amp dc-dc to install
@jarradmcdonald28953 ай бұрын
@@VideoShowMeHow interesting. I'm running a 40a dcdc to charge my 200ah lithium and running a lot of gear with no issues. It's not like your engine needs a lot of amps.
@kanev12Ай бұрын
Hey mate for a while now sometimes if I dont drive the ute for a couple of days the starter batt can be dead flat. Ive never worked out why, this morning it was as flat as could be, central locking wouldnt even work no dash lights nothing. Have you had or heard or any similar issue? Or common parasidic volt drains? Alt upgrade might be on the cards to help charge as I have 200ah via bddc 1225d but wondering if that might fix both issues? Cheers Kane
@VideoShowMeHowАй бұрын
@@kanev12 hi, yes these have a bit of a drain when parked (like most new cars these days), if running a DCDC it may be the case that your starter battery isn't being fully charged as the factory alternator may not be being able to keep up. I'd start by checking the starter battery health

Hi Adam, any reason why you didn't fit the Jaylec 240 amp alternator rather than the one you did. Or why did you choose this one?
@VideoShowMeHow3 ай бұрын
Basically because of amps, going that big means pretty fat cable etc, and I just don't need that big, need space 50 amp dc-dc so anything above that is a waste

Hello, when you installed your rugged ridge hood latches on your Wrangler JK did they hold up? Did you have any issues with them and did you ever have to tighten them up? I heard one person say they failed and it smashed the windshield, I don’t know if that is true or not.
