How to UPGRADE HP OMNI All-In-One 120 Desktop Memory & Hard Drive (Removal Replacement RAM 120-1000)

How do I upgrade the Ram and hard drive on my HP Omni All In One 120 Desktop Computers? This video will show you how to remove and replace the memory. Use DDR3-1333 Memory chips. Most of the Omni 120 Workstations can only be upgraded to 8 gigs (two 4 gig chips). Some of these have 6 gigs and you can replace the 2g with a 4g. Some only have a 4g and you can insert a new 4g or 2g in the 2nd empty memory slot.

Thank u for the video. I got to say u got that off faster than the tech that replaced my DVD drive 8yrs ago when I bought my Omni lol. It took him almost 20mins to get the cover off lmao. Oh and he worked for hp!!

Hey I got some advice: There's a button down below the hp pc which u only need to press and hold to open the hp. Using card have higher chance breaking the plastic

It's not really a good idea to be sliding the machine around on carpet while it is open and you are changing components...especially with socks on...

Re-Install the operating System? CLONE the original hard drive to the SSD and you won't have to "re-install" the operating system. It is very easy - Almost as easy as copy and paste. Some SSD's even include instructions or even software to clone your old hard drive to the NEW SSD. Samsung has a nice utility included or available as a free download for anyone to download, but there are many others out there! It takes only a few minutes to clone your old drive to a new one.

No, the processor is soldered directly to the motherboard and the power requirements are tailored to that specific CPU

I think it's an integrated graphics, meaning the CPU and graphics card are the same thing. If you can replace the CPU, then yes, but you'd need to get one with it's own GPU too.

Here's a clue dude...if you take it off once, take a marker and put a little mark where the plastic tabs are, so you can get it easier next time. I did mine, and didn't put a scratch on it. Those phone toolkits are very helpful set of PLASTIC tools!! :-)

I bought 16gb (2 sticks of 8gb) RAM for a laptop but I'm wondering if I could put one stick 8gb RAM in there and yes I do have the 64x bit windows ten. would I be able to do this?

You can try. Check the specs afterwards and see if it accepted all 16g. If it only goes up to 8g you can take one out and resell etc.

right click My Computer, go into properties and see if it is reading as 16g or 8g. It might take it but it might not be utilizing it which you'll be wasting a good ram chip if that is the case.

no but it will increase the quickness and being able to perform more tasks at one time. It's well worth it. Look on Ebay for discounts on Ram. You should be able to get two 4g chips ddr3 for about 40 to 50 bucks.

u can get an external gpu as this pc has the m.sata port. its currently used with the wifi chip but if ur using ethernet then that can be a huge upgrade. u need the external gpu enclosure and a desktop power supply and possibly a second main monitor
