Thanks for the well-detailed video on how to remove the taillight assembly for replacing the turn signal bulb. Removing the plastic cover to access the screws ended up being more difficult than I thought. I actually broke some tabs on one of them in the process. Like many, I replaced the bulbs with LEDs (the same as the one in the video) because I better appreciate the instantaneous ON/OFF behavior of LEDs compared to a halogen bulb. It makes the car look more premium. By the way, for those who wonder, these bulbs do not hyper flash, and no resistor is required. However, like all aftermarket LED bulbs, they are too bright, which I agree could potentially be annoying for following drivers, especially at a red light. I thought about tinting the turn signal cover with smoked vinyl, as I did with my previous car (10th gen civic). But doing this can drastically reduce the transmitted light (even with LED bulbs installed), to a point where, in some situations like during a very sunny day, the turn signal could be barely noticeable when activated. I instead decided to only tint the bulb top lens, which I believe is the primary factor for causing potential blindness to other drivers. I don’t know if it actually makes a difference since I didn’t test them with and without the tint, but it’s probably better than nothing.

Awesome man! I still don’t understand why they don’t do this from the factory??? My Mazda had all standard LED everything. Lexus does this to consumers as well and it makes no sense. This should be the standard for everyone for safety and illumination but even more so for premium brands.

@@2418turo oh for sure. The funniest kick here is that the whole front end is LED and everything on the back is LED except the turn signal. It’s definitely a cost factor because from my understanding this set up doesn’t require resistors so it’s practically plug and play

Thanks for the video. Can't believe Acura still left out LED signal lights, even on the 2022 model. 😳 Any updates? Have you had any moisture issues since removing the taillight housing?

The problem with these bulbs are they're just way too bright that you would need to tint wrap the back or so. I wish these bulb makers would make these just as bright as OEM specs only. The light output needs to be like half or a quarter only imo.

Hasn't been a problem for me. I'd rather have them brighter than dimmer or close to stock because it will help others notice my intent of travel path.

@@2418turo yeah but you will be blinding people in the back. If you get high beamed then you know what's for. I tinted mine out of courtesy to others. OEM spec LEDs are just perfectly fine and they are DOT approved as well. Putting in hella bright LEDs for turns is like drivers that are putting in LEDs in reflectors housing headlights blinding hella peeps in front of them.

I honestly doubt I'll ever get someone flashing their high beams because of my turn signals. 😂 I think you are reaching here man. They are brighter than oem LEDS bit it's not like they are the LEDs used for lows or highs. C'mon guy. If I do get high beamed..Fuggit I guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂. And I'll let you know that way you can keep track too. 😂

I installed resistors to get rid the hyper flashing. You can go on KZbin and look for Led turn signal resistors. They will show you how to install them.
