This was an EXCELLENT video! Not too detailed and shows just enough to understand how to do the job. To the one's who rambled about making it look easy, you should probably not attempt this repair. Especially if you aren't sure if you have the right tools! Also, you can not show the little details on a repair like this, bc every boat will be different. In my opinion, this was perfect! Great job and thanks for your video!!

This is a great video. FYIs for some other people, I replaced two of these recently. It can be easier to remove the teleflex cable than to cut it; loosening a few of the nuts and pulling through the bulkheads is all it takes, but it's rigid so can be difficult. Also, in some cases the steering wheel mounting bolts are accessible from underneath the console. It's just 3 nuts to remove (assuming the interior bolts don't slip on you) and the whole steering wheel assembly comes out. Could save you quite a bit of time.

Thanks Boss. It looked easy, but for a new comer, it is a hell Lot of a job. Thanks all the same.

Do you know the original length of the cable you removed? And what length hoses you replaced it with? I am about to do this job but I am still unclear how much longer the hose needs to be over the cable length. Thanks for sharing this video.

Would have added an inline filter on the return line

Would have routed the hose differently. Nice loop letting fittings connect from the port side

Like many experts--I think it seems easier, to you, than it would come across to the layman, who has neither the tools, the working bay, the knowledge and/or skills. In other words, you make it look easy, cause you know what you are doing, and you have the tools, the work bay, the knowledge and the helper. That's not to say people can't do it, just that people need to really think through not only the steps, but things they may encounter along the way--like the helm hole NOT being the same size and so an and so forth. AND TIME. I would add, don't start this if you are on a tight time frame--if it is a project, and you have extra time to take care of the unexpected, then go ahead. Just my two cents.

First time doing this and its actually pretty simple. For me the hardest part was removing the old cable
