I want to upgrade but I'm afraid that my previous programs won't work the same. As a noob to G Code, I've spent many hours learning and tweaking each program and don't want to lose all that work. I still get orders for the same product and don't want to remake the program. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've only updated my PP once since my lathe almost 2 years ago. purchase last year. 2 questions: - Will my previous program still work the same? - If it doesn't will I have the option to revert back to my previous version of PathPilot? Thanks again for continually making your products better. I've always had excellent support from you guys and that was MY MAIN REASON for purchasing Tormach and the same reason I refer all my friends/customers to you.

Can you guys provide some more information or point us in the right direction for connecting our PCNC1100 to our shop network? Wouldn't we need a network card in the controller? We have been updating PathPilot with a memory stick. Thanks. J. Gaertner

That's a great question! You can connect to the internet with an ethernet cable, or if that isn't available, you can use a wireless network adapter such as this one: www.tormach.com/store/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=38207

Wow! Some how I missed that when I set up our machine! Its on page 66 on the PCNC 1100 manual. Thanks. I will have to run a network cable out to our PCNC right away.

When you get to the part at 3:45 he says dont choose dvd, etc,etc....ignore that. I had to choose the uefi drive in order to do it, you could reboot a million times and never get the other option.

Upgraded to 2.0 on my PCNC 1100 and have had nothing but problems with it and had to revert back to 1.9. Really need to release what has changed that would effect how PP reads GCode differently than previous versions, HSM exports no longer work at all.

In trying to update a PCNC 1100 to PathPilot v2.0, I first updated to 1.9.13, which went smoothly. Now that I am ready to update to 2.0, I cannot get the controller to go into the bios when restarting. I have tried many times pressing F10, F11, F12 just as shown in this video and as the instructions stated, but it just loads all the way to the machine control screen every time. I have even tried pressing F2 and DEL to 'enter setup' as is shown on the screen briefly as the control is booting up, but that didn't work either. The 2.0 USB drive is the only one plugged in to the PathPilot computer, but seems to be ignored, regardless of which port it is plugged in to. When I could not get to the bios screen on the 1100, I tried the USB drive to update a 440 (coming from v1.9.7), and it worked perfectly there. I then tried updating the 1100 control again, and I still cannot get it to boot to the bios screen. Any suggestions?

It's too bad that PathPilot isn't an available Controller to just buy. It looks rather streamlined. Professional appeal. Could be some potential to dominate a new market by offering an alternative controller, and tap into software development oppose to just a CNC machine. If nothing else, it would be nice to have it as an option to apply to pre-existing small cnc machines already on MACH3 or 4. Not ones to be sold directly to the consumer. This reason is a simplified way to get customers that happen to have a machine to be introduced to PathPilot, and just end up going with Tormach at a later date due to convenience. It's either that, or potentially MACH4 could be updated to the point where it might surpass PathPilot.
