Nov 3, 2024 still works. Had to try twice, and the setup didn’t start automatically. Just open the file and start the setup.exe manually. Even if it fails to write for some reason and reverts back to windows 7, try again. I had to. Promise it works.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have windows 7 and managed to update it to windows 10 with this video. I tried few other videos but they didn't work on my laptop. Also, it didn't prompt me to enter the generic product activation code and it still worked. I've literally just done it now so time will tell how genuine this is but I have also managed to finally update my Google chrome browser. Next step is to find Microsoft packages to get word and excel which I used to have until everything was wiped from the hard drive. After rebooting, it said “Activate Windows”, which brought me to place to input product key (which didn’t work).. read somewhere in the comments though that it might take 2-3 restarts for the message to go away. If you have small memory (I have a 1GB RAM) the 64bit version will be too big for your computer, as others already explained you'll need the 32bit but honestly I wonder if it's going to work with low RAM. 1GB is the absolute minimum for windows 10 32bit

You da Man, Used your instructions word for word & file for file and converted my Win 7 to 10 this morning. It took about 2 hours or so with downloading etc. and so far all seems to be working properly, didn't need a key. Surprised me that no problems. I had my doubts, but as of Sept 8, 2024 this still works. Like some of the other commenters, I didn't even need the generic key, it just jumped straight into installing. Thanks!
