Wait, I thought the limit was 4TB. I read somewhere when they started allowing people to install 3rd party SSDs that the max limit was 4TB.

Nope, we aren’t changing an existing drive. The slot we added to is an extra drive slot so you keep your existing space and add to it

Is the PS5 able to find the old saved games, or do they become lost?

This doesn’t replace the internal storage; it adds to it. Therefore you don’t lose any saved data that needs to be found.

This method adds additional storage. The ps5 has an internal drive that we don’t remove so all that storage stays with your existing games there and then you can choose to move it or just put new content on the new ssd

I have PS5 from 2022 model some what middle version, I haven't connected my system to internet and just plays with some pre built in games which I purchased from third party. If I connect to internet then my games will be erased. Now that I am buying games disk and playing them I am getting spaces issues whike i already have 2 tb, I am looking to expand to 4, So my question is can a non slim model can go to 8tb? Does this model need firmware updates ? If I need firmware updates then can I manually downthe the required update and install it vi pendrive or other in PS5

Nope! They designed it like this so you can add more storage easily yourself!

Trying to clone my 4tb to 8tb with no loss in data how do I do that they are both m2 2280 nvme ssd drives

You could achieve this if you have them both in enclosures with a PC.

And when I look and either of them in disk management they have an x by that disk drive and ask me to change it to mbr or gpt which the ps5 file system is not and I even formatted the 8tb empty one before cloning same thing the PlayStation asked me to format

Hmm it could be that there are hidden files that aren’t being transferred because you can’t see them. If you are in file explorer you can check off the option to show hidden files and see if there’s anything extra on the drive
