I loved how you gave credit to the source of the idea; it's small stuff, but it matters. You seem to be an honest person, which is much more important than anything else. And yes, the door looks much better. One thing; you know how the inner sides of those moldings are straight angles; maybe it would be better to get moldings with both sides beveled, or maybe attach separate moldings to the inside of the frames you created, so that both sides of the frames gradually incline onto the door surface. Just a thought 🤔 Thank you for the great video :)

That looks really nice and not to mention how little it cost. I was going to replace all my flat doors (same as your original) and pay $100-150 per door for just installation alone. Your method will cost a tiny fraction compared to what I was about to spend. Great video, much appreciated 👍!

Looks great! We have 10 doors in our main hallway alone to deal with and also want to sell our house in a year. Spending in excess of $1,000.00 for brand new doors is NOT in the budget! We are going with a different pattern on the door but definitely going this route! I loved your scripture verse at the end of your video too.

Finished product looks very impressive. it's a great idea. However I don't know what a lot of those things are: brad nails, chalk line, etc so I plan on buying cheapish wooden photo frames and sticking them to my front door using selleys liquid nails, then after drinking time... oops I mean drying time, I will paint. I've only got one door to do. Thanks so much for an excellent and well explained video!!!

This looked great. We have brown hollow core doors and faux wood trim. We started replacing doors, staining 6 panel doors, but only got 4 done (in a 4 BR house, it’s a drop in the bucket, door wise. We need to repaint some of the room,s I’m now considering paining all the trim white and doing what you did for your doors. Looks great

I’m thinking about how I can make a big plain front door have some visual help...I purchased wooden frames because I have no access to saws, and my mathematics during measuring is sooooo bad, it would be a nightmare...so I’m going to glue the frames to the front door, calm in the seams, and add other 3D elements. How long does it take for a painted door to dry? It seems like the first time you shut the door it would make marks? This should be interesting...btw, the door came out awesome!

Two options, home depot sells a acrylic paint forvtgis kind of door finish, or just rough up the finish with 150grit paper a little and then prime it twice, then put on trim, then final paint

It's funny how so many people are like it's not economical to do this when you factor time/money saved. Wait until you have 4 of those doors and a ton of other things on your honey-do list and your realize that the money saved can go to your next project and you don't have to figure out how to trash 4 doors. Great video (would have loved to see how you went from brown to white though) you've earned my subscription!
