Midjourney needs to have it's own built in upscaler.

Agree. Vance appears to have solid algorithms for upscaling, at least based on a few images I could create without signing up for their ridiculously priced plans... they should be ripe for acquisition. I recently/finally signed up for a paid plan with Leonardo for the sole purpose of upscaling larger batches of images... the upscaling options were killer! The very day that I purchased said plan, everything went to hell... almost daily updates over the last two weeks have completely fvked up Leonardo to the point of being useless. They are well aware of the issues, but still no resolution... another major WTF?

I'm looking @ this video in Sept 2024 so about a year from the time he created it. I think I'm going to go with Topaz, but from what I can tell, still have to do our resolutions somewhere else. this is a great video. Thanks for the tips

Thank you! Have fun, topaz is still amazing :) I wouldn't ge too caught up with DPI,ik fyou make the image as large as possible, it should work out -DPI is really just how many pixels the image has when printed over each inch of paper

3 things I really miss from midjourney. First is the upscaling function, second is the out-panting and the third is a controlnet-like solution.

There are a few - but Adobe Stock, 123RF and Dreamstime last I checked are some of the main ones.

Exactly what I was looking for. I was unaware of the size limitations of Midjourney until I used it yesterday, and this shows how the images can be upscaled really well t make them a hi rez useful size. I guess Midjourney servers would crash if everyone wanted 9000 x9000 rez each time! Thank you a concise and precise evaluation of some tooos, I was unaare of.. I have subscribed, and will now click the links to help your channel. Best J

This is why AI can't replace photography so far. I hope the AI developers are aware of this and hopefully it can generate high resolution images in the future.

Do you recommend converting the MJ .png file to JPEG before enhancing in Topaz?
@WadeMcMaster4 ай бұрын
I would say if you are. Going to upscale, I'd just stick with feeding it a png and then save the upscale as jpg to skip the extra step

Question about colorprofiles for Print on Demand. Do you guys convert your midjourney art to CMYK? Midjourney art is in RGB afaik. Is this a thing to possibly worry about?
@WadeMcMaster Жыл бұрын
With print on demand I just use RGB. If I was doing commercial print work like brochures or flyers, I'd definitely be using CMYK and paying attention to the color mixes. But print on demand isn't exactly that precise.

how to upscale existing image ?
@WadeMcMaster4 ай бұрын
If it wasn't generated in Midjourney, you can't uspcale it with Midjourney. However, if you grab Topaz Gigapixel, which I show in the video, you can use that.

None of them right now sorry mate. I'd go a cheaper plan and grab a good ai upscaler like topaz gigapixel or topaz photo ai. I have a link in the description, it's what I use and it's really good.

Thanks heaps Wade. I would presume Wirestock allows you to download to then upload to POD sites, yes? And is it good enough for it be left as is once Wirestock does its job, because I don't have Photoshop, nor would know how to use it. I'm selling POD desings for wall art and tapesties, thus needing large sizes/files. Thanks so much for your time Pal :)
@WadeMcMaster Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Wirestock does allow download if you are on a paid plan. It can be good basic images, but adding text in a free program like Canva may be better
@tribzman3977 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to reply Wade! I don't plan on adding text, so you're saying Wirestock is questionable/average for fine detail designs without using Photoshop? Thanks so much Sir! @@WadeMcMaster
@WadeMcMaster Жыл бұрын
Pretty much, to a degree. Wirestock's upscaler gets the job done, but a dedicated upscaler will do better for sure. The wirstock uspcaler and Ai generator is a really convenient way to generat images and add them so there's less handling.
@tribzman3977 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much again for your kind reply Wade. Yeah, I guess I have to move on to another dedicated upscaler. The time consumption involved to hop to and from multiple apps just to get one image right is just too much. Not expecting a one-click solution albeit would be nice, but if one wants to upload several images/designs a day, it may truly be a major time suck. Still grateful for your great efforts with both the video and your time responding Bud! Will keep an eye out for future videos nevertheless!. If you do find an awesome upscaler, PLEASE make a video about it1 :) @@WadeMcMaster

@johnhawkinshawkins1284 Жыл бұрын
talk about the Dpi.
@WadeMcMaster Жыл бұрын
No problem. DPI is just a measurement and nothing to do with the file itself. Essentially, the dpi reading on an imageitself is completely useless. Dpi is more mathematical. Think 300 pixels per inch (dpi meaning dots per inch, in the case, pixels instead of dots... ) so a 3000x3000px image is 300dpi when printed at 10inch by 10 inches. Take that image (keeping it at 3000x3000px) and enlarge to 20 x 20 inches and it becomes 150dpi. Print it 5 inches , it becomes 600dpi. That's how dpi actually works in the real world. Also just to confirm, I worked in a commercial print factory for over a decade, this is how printers work. Dpi changes as the size of the print changes. 300 dpi or higher (I often use 450 dpi when I want things to be really sharp) is all you need. I hope that makes sense! If you want to use Topaz and still set DPI just to be complete, here's a video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2G9o4CEZ5J6j68
