1:00.counter and defend rt hand with own rt hand 1:20 alot of time people block rt hand with lft hand then counter with rt hand 1:45 now I block with lft hand and counter with lft hook/same hand 2:00 I sit into that block /putting more weight on lft hip Dropping shoulder trajactory 3:10 short n sweet 3:45 on pad 4:40 shoulder changes/to get power in lft hook too 5:15 thats good block and counter This is orthodox vs orthodox

My question is, after the boy blocks and fires a left hook counter, it doesn’t look like it would land on the face of the opponent because you’re bringing the pad closer to his reach..surely you’d have to step in to reach the opponents head? unless they’re are throwing a right hand and also throwing their entire body into it, which unless they’re untrained, they won’t do. Please explain…

Callum smith used this move against George groves in a title fight it changed the outcome of the fight after this move was used, it was the beginning of the end for groves ( who’s a great fighter) Callum smith won the fight because of this move he went in and finished groves body off straight after it was a cracking fight two top Uk fighters check it out awesome finish it is on KZbin
