Thanks for this video, there were many others I watched which were not helpful at all, they were either not using a bow stringer like this or the video was 20 minutes long etc. This was very simple and informative and I de-strung my bow in about 5 seconds. Thanks very much!.

this video was very helpful as i have been an archer for years, however, believe it or not, i've never had to unstring and/or string up my bow. i've had one that doesn't require a bow stringer to unstring/string it up. so thank you for this video i'll be sure to come back whenever i forget a step to stringing!

I just ordered one of these... used to string my bows the old fashioned way using my legs to bend it... but lost my left leg below the knee in 2018 and some times I struggle with it now and then my lower prosthetic is carbon fiber and titanium... not good for my bows... LOL! Thank you for the review for me... I liked this one the best of all to cover all my bows in the recurve as well as longbow and such line... think it will even work for my Mongolian Horse Bow I love but my others definitely... any way thank you for the video review of this type... many other types but this one is simplest of them all... appreciate this.

Well done! Right to the point and you included important aspects others didn't. One thing. This is the first time I'm stringing a bow and the string is stiff out of the bag. There is a channel down the top and bottom where the string sits in. The new string is stiff so it didn't naturally fall into that channel. After doing this 100's of times you forget what it is like the first time.

the value would be after spending many hours shaping and tillering a piece of wood into a bow,preventing a cracking sound using the step through method. lol although a store bought fiberglass recurve can handle the step through method as i have proven in my younger days.

Apparently it could potentially warp the limbs using the leg method, or so I was told...

not to mention the simple acting of misstepping, or getting tangled in your string. falling over means potential injury, and more likely scratch up your nice bow.

Thanks for a clear tutorial on this.......I have always done it with my inside step with bottom limb tucked into the inside of my boot.......works just fine till you are nearly seventy......when de stringing is a fuss of strength and dexterity. My other way was/is the Horse-Bow ...around the back of your leg....step through the string....bend the bow around your bum and it works too. But I got a stringer like yours on ebay and its so easy and simple and I stick to it now......but you included a few good extra tips and I now know how to use it properly and effectively, Thanks for that

Hi, If you were to use the little loop on the top and the bigger loop on the bottom , when stinging the bow , would that male any difference ? I ask because there is not enough serving part on the string below the nock point , where it hits the arm guard and there is excess serving above the nock . I was thinking if I turn the string so , the little loop on the top and the bigger loop on the bottom , so the excess that was on the top would now hit the arm guard . Or is that just a big no no thing do , I am new to archery

What would you recommend for second best stringing method? Maybe a bit of a silly question, since of course a stringer is your best bet. But I happen to not have stringer at the moment, and I don't fancy damaging my bow's limbs
@MerlinArchery8 жыл бұрын
At a pinch... i'd say the push pull method. there is a little less chance of twisting the limbs, like is possible with the step through method. i'll get around to do a video on the different methods one of the days :)
@mudkip_btw8 жыл бұрын
+MerlinArchery okay, thanks for the info. I've been using it since I heard stringing around your leg may damage the limbs. It's a bit clumsier though :( need to get used to it more I reckon

how long can you leave your bow strung?
@colbonthecob25308 жыл бұрын
It's good to unstring it after shooting, but you can leave it strung indefinitely. At the risk of the limbs possibly losing tension over a long period of time.
@TuberoseKisser8 жыл бұрын
Depends on the care, I wouldn't recommend to have it constantly strung as it's best to unstrung it after every use

Just string it up as you're going out to shoot, then unstring afterwards

The video shows stringing of a very light bow (probably 40#). Weight change isn't linear, 50# is far tougher than 45# and short bows art tougher than, say, 64".

I have like a 30 year old bow my grandpa gave me and stringing it was way mote terrifying than it looks in video, and its only a 45#
@PooMonkeyMan6 жыл бұрын
I've found using a stringer is easier for high poundage bows. I had a 60# recurve that I couldn't even string with the step through, had to use the stringer. And women can definitely shoot 55# bows if they train for it. Most guys who don't do archery can't even shoot a 55# bow.
