@GetGlamFam6 жыл бұрын
You may want to opt for more heat free methods of styling like dampening the hair and setting it on a flexi-rod. Direct heat can often strip certain fashion colors

I’ve been a tomboy my whole life and am starting to get in touch with my “feminine” side. Same. I have been natural for 15 years with NO heat at all. Back in high school I had a relaxer and went to salon each week. Am so scared of these heat tools, but want to start doing straight hair for winter. I need all the info I can get to prevent damage. Linwood is a good teacher thoughtful. I am gonna watch some Glam Twins vids too.

I got a Remington rod today. I found it at a thrift store for cheap lol and even though I have burned my fingers a few times it ACTUALLY curled my hair. Which is great because my hair don't want to ever hold them. Its like one side I'll get a few curls the rest just roll out. And I don't mess with it either. It comes out straight too. And I've used many different curling irons like with the clamp. So I'm happy that this rod actually does something.

This might sound a bit odd, but I'm very new to using a curling wand, and I'm having a lot of trouble sectioning my hair. So I curl one piece, and it get's lost in all the other uncurled pieces, and It ends up being a big mess. Any tips on how to just section my hair so that it is easier to manage? I tried just keeping one side tied back, doing a half up half down, just going in blind, but it always ends up messy and I loose my curls I've already done. Also, I have long hair (which isn't extremely thick). Sorry this is such a weird question, I know it might seem simple but I really am a mess!
@GetGlamFam6 жыл бұрын
I would say to put it in as many sections as necessary. For some clients I use 5-6 clips and I section small rows with a small duckbill clip as well. It helps keep everything organized so it’s not all tangled up.

Lol, when I seen you spray the working spray I had a flash back. It took me to the late 80s/early 90s. My friends would spray Aqua Net until it beaded on their hair and hit it with a blow dryer to form wings on the side of their head. I also remember the sizzle-frying sound when they curled their hair that was dripping wet with Aqua Net. Thankfully, you know what to hell your doing :)

So it's okay to spray hairspray on hair before curling? Never knew that! I thought it might damage the hair as it is a flammable substance. Might try this to see if it holds the curls longer. ♥️

I got a glove with my straightener/wand kit! it does look like a shower glove lol. I never did anything like this with my hair because my hair is fine and doesnt hold any styles, and im afraid of damage (colored hair) but this new infrared technology is less damaging and seems to hold even my hair type...it gave me hope that I can feel pretty and like my hair :) So, i have the tools but not the know how! thanks for these tutorials, they are easy to follow and not filled with bad info like some homemade tutorials can be.
