How To Use A Dryer (FULL Tutorial)

In this video, I show you how to use a dryer. It is a full tutorial that shows you all of the steps that are required to dry clothes using a dryer. I explain the instructions using the controls on my Maytag Bravos dryer; however, the instructions will be very similar for most dryer. With that being said, you might have to take the instructions and change them slightly to match the wording and control knobs on your specific dryer.

Sensor drying is much more efficient than timed settings. The damp clothes brush across a pair of sensor bars in the drum while tumbling and the machine automatically vary the time needed to reach the set dryness level. Heavy towels and jeans run longer. Lighter weight items ... knits, dress shirts, lingerie ... runs shorter. It eliminates the guesswork of setting a time and provides more consistent results from one load to another. Wrinkle Prevent on this machine functions only on the Sensor cycle. It helps ward-off wrinkles if the load is left sitting in the machine after drying is finished by continuing to tumble without heat for a period of time. Some dryers tumble continuously during the Wrinkle Prevent period. Others may have a pattern of tumbling for 30 seconds, idle for 5 mins, repeating until the Wrinkle Prevent period runs out to the end. Sanitize runs at a higher temperature and/or for a longer time to thoroughly heat-up the load for a while after the items are fully dry.

Thanks for the video! Anyone who has this dryer -- specifically model MEDX655DW -- have you found that the center knob is harder to turn than the other knobs? I got this dryer today, and it works just fine, but I don't want to mess up that part by forcing it if it isn't meant to be forced.

@@ianmackenzie686 Apparently it's normal for it to be a little harder to turn, but it shouldn't be stuck. Maybe it just needs to be broken in a bit? If not, I'd contact Maytag. Should be under warranty if you bought it new. For what it's worth, mine has been going strong for 2 years, and I love it!

How do I know what to choose on the central button? Let's say I simply want the dryer to dry the clothes from the washing machine, will I have to direct it to the timed dry, stream refresh or sensor dry section?

My main dial has Wrinkle control on the drying options AND I have the separate wrinkle control on and Off dial like the dryer above. QUESTION: I have the wrinkle control turned ON, but do you also need to have it on the wrinkle control setting on the main dial for that option to even work? If not my switch is faulty on the smaller knob as When drying on normal cycle selection but wrinkle turned on it does not ever come on.
