I Am Struggling Here. 😩😂😂😂 This is not as easy as it looks! My kitchen table is soaked. I am soaked. And the only gold I’ve found so far was a picker I grabbed outta the kitchen strainer. I will not give up. I will get this down. 💪🤨🫡🫡🫡

My dad taught me to pan some 65 yrs ago by placing 2 or 3 heads of sewing pins in a gravel then I panned them . He then gave me a series of pan loads with an unknown to me number of pinheads. He knew how many then I had to pan them and tell him the number of pinheads. Took me a while to be consistently correct. He was a water borer and also did placer explorations for gold at Gympie, Borneo, New Caledonia and other places where he panned the dirt at various depths to gauge if an area was suitable for dredging operations. Also tested areas at Mt Garnett for alluvial tin.

When I started planning, what I did is I put the smallest piece of lead buck-shot I could find an if you have it in the pan when you are done, you have accomplished what you need.

Excellent video this was Chris it was very interesting to watch and learn. I personally don’t pan for gold etc etc but I do love watching your videos and programs all about gold ie Aussie Gold Hunters ummm Gold Rush and stuff but I do prefer watching you out and about in your country and region looking and panning as it’s very interesting and you explain everything you do very well. Keep safe out and about when your prospecting and stuff.

Great video. If I was a newbie(I am) and was panning a purchased bag of pay dirt I would pan into a container where I could pour the water and washed out pay dirt through a very tight sieve so that I could pan the concentrate lost again.

Great tutorial. Trying to catch up on all your vids currently. If you haven't already made them, it would be awesome to see some videos on: 1) Panning with a ton of blacks sands (I am getting a vast amount of those) 2) How to tell when your sluice is full... Not seen any videos really touching on this and I am new anyways, but I am pretty sure I am emptying out my sluice way too often for fear of it being too full. Personally, I am only using a 6x24 with Dream Mat right now. Thanks for all your great content!

Gold will not collect on the floating magnet if you have enough water to keep the magnet separated from the material in the pan. The magnetics will rise to the magnet and be cleaned of gold as it travels through the water,
@VoGusProspecting3 жыл бұрын
I have found that in my area the magnetics are primarily iron stone. These are chunky. If I do it in water they literally pull gold off the bottom with it. If I don't pan the magnetics I tend to loose a little gold. Having said that, the finer magnetite does not create that problem. So perhaps it depends on the magnetics.
