@@egformula I got to tell you, i just used the bag. Wow!! It aint as easy as it looks. 1st i mixed to dry and it wouldnt come out of the bag. I empty the bag and made it wetter. Too wet. It was running, dripping. Im covered in cement. Finally got the consistancy right and still its not as easy as it looks.

@@egformula My mortar just kept jamming in the tip, when the water is squeezed out of the grout. Then I kept cutting the tip wider, and it kept happening. I had the grout so wet that I could drink the stuff, and it still kept binding in the tip. Lots of swearing, and I never got that tip to work.

Do you prefer using sanded grout over a masonry mortar mix? I'm guessing the sanded grout is easier to push into the joints and flows easier in the bag? Going to be filling my Mexican half brick decorative walls and just want the easiest but best method possible...thanks

Pavers (you walk on)!, you tool the joints, not scrape the mortar ,press the joints with the jointer (that's the name of the tool)

I am grouting clay brick veneer in my kitchen and bought some premix grout called simple grout. The directions say to pre wet my tiles (in my case brick) before grouting. I'm confused on whether or not I need to wet the bricks beforehand or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I prefer to have the grout level with the brick just like what these guys are showing. Some prefer the hollow style grout with less smooth finish that holds dust and dirt.

Yes same concept all good, its important to have it mixed correctly not too thick or way too thin, may take a couple of trys to get it right so it squeezes out correctly.

Use some bevelled wood to compress grout then wipe wirh soft brush

I agree completely with what you said using a piece of wood and then a soft brush I just did the exact brick did not use a sponge at all it was a lot less work a lot less mess just let the grout dry scrape your grout seams with a piece of wood and then run a brush across it and it makes the grout look like it's been there for 20 years to match the old style brick

Can you use epoxy grout on these thin bricks? I’m doing a small 5x4 entry floor area in this brick. I hate sanded grout!

I would not. epoxy grout is VERY difficult to wipe off.

Not really or at least not all motor they may be some Algiculture stone type motor that may work.

Only time iv seen motor use as grout is outdoor architectural stone work, they usually have a dye color power that they add to it. So in this case this type of brick i wouldn't recommend it but it might be possible.

I can’t get the grout/mortar to come out of the bag unless I get it runny wet? Then it will fall out of the joint especially on soldier lain brick. What am I doing wrong??

It has to be a somewhat softer then regular grout but yet not too runny, then Try adding less to the bag and not fill soo much to start off with. Little by little you'll get the hang of it as you twist it out.. and eventually you'll fill bag more.. but definitely try less when it's first time

You know now that I think about it last night when the bag would get low on grout/mortar it would flow out near perfect. I got all my flat joints done (top of the hearth) hopefully it goes better this evening. Thanks again for the quick response and the helpful tips!!

Something people should know is to be very careful with some of the colored grout. That stuff drys very fast and if you wet sponge it too late you aren’t ever getting those color stains off the face of your brick or tile.

Would grout release prevent that?

@@southern842 not sure. The only way I know that will prevent it for sure is to work in smaller sections so it doesn’t cure/dry before you have a chance to clean the face.
