Thank you for this truly simple informative video, for my Hermes Baby Typewriter with the Spanish keyboard, that I recently bought. It is a very beautiful typewriter that I have delivered to the Typewriter Repairman for cleaning, lubricating, and tuning. Once it's home I will be using it along with the other four typewriters I own typing is really relaxing.

I have had this same model typewriter for a number of years but you pointed out three things I never knew before. Thanks for your video and helpful hints.

This is amazingly perfect and I thank you for your help. My grandfather just passed away and I found his old typewriter in perfect working condition in his study. I simply didn’t know how to operate it. I guess now I have no excuse for not writing a novel haha. Thanks again, It was just what I needed!!

Thank you so much. I just took delivery of my Hermes Rocket, same vintage as the one in your video, and realized I had not extended the carriage arm, space bar thingy. I at first thought it had snapped off. This is a great intro to my "new" Hermes Rocket.

Nice! Do you have any video on the same subject but for the Olivetti Lettera 82? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

That’s similar to silver reed . It’s like the plastic Hermes baby’. So our silver reed video will be most relevant.

Great video. Exactly what I wanted to know, what the two arrows key is for. My Hermes baby looks different and it doesn't have the @ symbol. It's from the 70's and it's American (Mexico) it also has the ñ letter.

Also, I notice that mine has a small lever next to the backwards key so I can choose between red, white and blue (of course White allows typing but nothing is printed, and blue depends on the roll, I have red and black) It's just amazing 😍.

Hello ! How to do a line break please? Is there a touch for that?
@MrMrsVintageTypewriters Жыл бұрын
Line spacing is done using the lever in the left side. We might be re shooting the Hermes baby again in the future 😊

The one hiccup I have with my Baby is the carriage return. If I'm not careful I return it too forcefully and skip a line of text, even if it's set on single-space. Otherwise, it's a very handsome and fun machine.

Usually it shouldn’t. Means it needs adjustment or the left cog not aligned.

Thank you for your video, it really helps :) my hermes baby with french keyboard has no key for no.1 nor for no.0, it has other characters instead - do you know why? I think I should use "I" instead of "1" and "O" instead of "0" - or? :) Thank you!

Hi Always happy to help Use lower case L for 1 Use upper case O for Zero. Historically, manufacturers didn’t use 1 and O like Olivetti and brother typewriters
