Instead of flexing your head forward, tilt it to the side and drop the opposite shoulder down till you can feel a nice nice stretch past your ear and then roll that side all the way up and down up past the ear. Repeat on the other side. Trust me this is the best way to relieve the neck muscles and you won't get it the same results without performing the stretch properly (you can feel if it's proper). I have long hair and use The Stick by putting my hair in front of my shoulders, no hair pulled but your right about the leg hair and needing pants on.

Hi Ziggy, thanks for the added tip for our subscribers and those who just found this video but aren’t subscribed yet. To be clear, your tip will help different muscles than when you flex your head forward so even if you don’t feel as much relief when flexing the head forward as you do on the muscles on the side, if you want the best results do all sides of your neck whenever you feel tightness. Some muscles are tight and not functioning well even if they do not feel as tight as others do. Good luck!

@@DrLaurenBaker True, I think my tip is more for people who stretch in the one form of yoga that is long form holds that cause your body to adjust itself over time. Eventually when your posture is fixing itself and your shoulders are going into their correct place your neck starts to feel way stronger than before and it's those side muscles that need attention. Tilting forward doesn't even provide a massage feeling for me at this point but I'm guessing that has to do with the posture change and different muscles doing more work than before when I had bad posture.

It’s totally possible, I also love yoga and think it’s great that you’re so in tune with your body. Keep it up and thanks for adding value to the comment section!

Best to use Theracane for isolating muscle and breaking up the tissues.

Hi Julius! Thanks for the comment. The Theracane is a great tool, too, but they do work differently. The theracane is going to work more on localized trigger points in your muscles and the tiger tail is going to be more similar to foam rolling and work more globally. If someone wanted to own all three I’d say have at it. If someone only wanted to buy one, my vote is still the 18 inch tiger tail.
