@@grainificent same for me haha Thanks so much for the Intro. I just checked the battery and my needle is at the top doesnt move anywhere. Does this mean i need to change the battery? Thanks

@enzomauro90 yes, when you turn the power switch to "battery check" the needle should drop down to the battery check area to notify you that it is a good battery. make sure you put the battery in correctly. if changing the battery to a completely new one doesnt help, it may mean there is something wrong with the light meter... but lets hope its just a dead battery :)

Another question does scratches or dirt on the focusing screen has any impact on the image? i just checked the focusing screen on my XD7 and there are a few minor scratches and dust....curious if i still can make good picture with it.

My brother had one drop from 6ft. Onto a tile floor with no damage to camera ,a good camera that can take a beating,good optics.

if it sounds well, it should work well :) the battery is only for the light meter so you dont need it to start taking photos :) sunny 16 rule or a phone app that measures light :) good luck! :)

about the exposure up line is for underexpose photos and line down is for over expose thats correct? it helps me a lot, i dont have any idea if my exposimeter works correctly

That is correct! 😃 you just have to match the two needles in the viewfinder :)

Hey, just revived one of these that may be damaged was wondering if yours when you move the shutter speed back and forth fast it sounds like a timer that is going off, i tested this with a few of my other older film cameras and did not get this sound and was just wondering if this is something that is normal for this camera.

in mine i don't hear much but there is a noticeable sound near the 1/60s mark. if the shutter keeps the speeds by ear then it shouldn't be much of a problem. you should go through a roll and test different shutter speeds. If the photos come out good then it just might be needing some lube instead of repairs. a good shop should be able to take it apart, lube it and put it back together within 2-5 min. different cameras can have different shutter speed control mechanisms :)

Hello, with no battery in, it doesn't affect anything. It affects the meter when you have a battery in and use the metering :)

which film would you recommend for beginner?

I always recommend fomapan 400 if its accessible in your area :) its the cheapest so you can shoot more for the same price. Often more than 2 times cheaper than others. After you get to know exposure and composition and get to love shooting on film, you can experiment with different film stocks to find what you like best :)

That is correct. The battery is only needed for the light meter. You can use a phone app light meter or the sunny 16 rule
