I have a ph meter i like using with starsan to verify it's still good to use to sanitize. It lasts months if kept in bottles. I think if under 3 its still good

Does anyone know if there's a way to store that calibration solution, or do you have to buy new stuff every time?

You can definitely store it. We actually sell premixed calibration solutions as well. Those say "expires 3 months after opening" so that's probably a good reference point. Cheers

Thanks for doing this one! Every instructions I've ever found for Ph meters make it sound like you have to use all three buffers to calibrate, and that always seemed silly and wasteful. About how long do you find the probes last before wearing out?

I just started using this one a few months ago and it's still calibrating just fine. The previous one I had was a different brand so not apple to apples. But with that one I got 2-3 years before I had to replace the probe.

When I got mine from MoreBeer the sponge was dried and stuck to the probe. I didn't realize it was supposed to be in the cap. I cleaned the pribe and threw it out. Can I replace it with part of a new sponge from my yeast start flask?

Yes you can replace it. Over time is will start to get discolored etc., I often cut a piece of new sponge out when that happens. Cheers

Mine came the same way, dried out and sticking to the probe so when you took the cap off pries of the probe ripped out. Happened twice. 😔

Are these Kegland meters reliable over time? I see some people love these smaller ones, when others say they have had issues (not specifically keglands meter) and recommend the expensive Milwaukee Instruments rig.

I've only had the kegland one for a few months now, no issues yet; but time will tell. My last pH meter was a small one like this and eventually I had to replace the probe. Problem was the probe cost almost as much as the original unit was, so I opted to go with this model as the entire unit was cheaper than the probe replacement. The probe on this one is currently $19, I'm considering picking one up just to have on hand. Anyway, hope this helps. I will keep you posted on how this one holds up. Cheers

5 month update: I just used it this last weekend and probe still good i.e. it still calibrates. I've been making sure it always has storage solution in the cap, so mileage may vary depending on how well it's kept.
