How to Use a Post Hole Digger

Tool Tuesday - Post Hole Digger
*** Always check with your city before digging! ****
If you're planning to build a fence, you start with the posts.
To set the posts, you will first need to dig the holes with a post hole digger.
A pry bar of some sort is also helpful for breaking up the soil, and getting through rocks.

PSA remember to call 811 before you dig

Can someone explain the number for us kids not in the states? After a quick google search it seems to be a number to call to make sure we won't be digging into utilities' infrastructure.

@@simaorodrigues6285 Sorry, of course I live in the States. Basically it's best to call 811 before digging. So a official can check out your land, to see if their are any gas lines, cable lines, electricity...etc. Best to know where you can dig. Before digging, because there can be a major disaster.

@@MenkoDany The joke is that when you imagine a dog digging, you're supposed to assume it's like a normal dog digging holes in the ground with its paws. Sti when he says he thinks he's going to have to take the shovel away, it is a moment of irony and humor, because dogs don't use tools, so it it unexpected. I hope that helps!

As one of the people who don't have a father/has a bad relationship with my father, no need to feel ugly! It's an educational channel that has info important for all genders to know. My mom taught me some of these things (such as digging a post hole, like this), but there's also stuff here she doesn't know. 8:10 "It's a nice feeling when you finally get it out of there" For some reason this line made me think of the Mr. Rogers outro song. Maybe you remember this one... I'll put the lyrics below so we can sing along: _It's such a good feeling,_ _To know you're alive!_ _It's such a happy feeling,_ _You're growing inside!_ _And when you wake up, ready to say:_ _"I think I'll make a snappy new day!" _*_snap_*_ _*_snap_* _It's such a good feeling,_ _A very good feeling,_ _The feeling you know,_ _That I'll be back_ _When the day is new,_ _And I'll have more ideas for you,_ _And you'll have things you'll want to talk about,_ _I will too._ 😊 _You always make each day such a special day! You know how: by just your being you._ _Only one person in the whole world like you: That's you yourself._ _I'll be back next time. Buh-bye!_

I never realized I didn’t know how to tie a tie until my husband’s wake. My daughter and I searched Pinterest for instructions but found them confusing. There was a flood of tears realizing how much my grandson, then 12, may never learn because his grandfather was gone. ( The undertaker was kind enough to show him how it is done.) I have since cried for myself, not knowing how to do housey things and not being to afford to pay anyone to solve simple problems. Some folks have come forward to help with a few things but It gets old and people are busy, especially these days. I so need to replace a tub faucet and have no idea how. And I’m afraid to damage something that will just make the situation worse if I try. I am so thankful to have found this channel. Widows without male relatives need this information as well as young men. Thank you for doing this.

I have a suggestion for a new series for your channel, do a "dad to the rescue". Where you select a follower who has a simple need, like patch a hole in a wall, or clear an area to start a garden, and go to that follower and do the task with them. It could be an instructional video where you also get a chance to help someone do something they didn't know how and would have had to pay someone else to do it with them. I'm a single mom. I just moved to a new area and I have so many projects I want to do. Its tough because there isn't anyone around to help me. A friend gifted me a small shed a few weeks ago. I bought lumber and built a deck to build the shed on. Problem is I'd never done any thing like that before and didn't have the sense to level the ground and build the deck in the spot it would go permanently. Now its too heavy to move and its not level where it is. I can't even lift it a tiny bit. So its just been sitting there while I try to brainstorm a solution that doesn't involve dismantling it to move it. I just need someone to help me lift it up but there isn't anyone who can help me. I know there so many people out there who probably have similar situations like me. If only there was someone around to lend a helping hand. I think "dad to the rescue" would be a great addition to your channel.

Thank you for doing this. I was fortunate to learn this by watching my dad before I was 10. Keep it up, people are capable of a lot more than they know.

Just found your channel after seeing it on a "Weird Facts" page on Facebook, such a wholesome and informative guy. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain all of this stuff for those of us that need it most. Thank you and keep up the great work

I honestly don't know if you read this, but I want to tell you that I think it's very sweet what you do. It's beautiful that even if it's through a video, people can have a father figure, that for some reason they do not have. Greetings from Uruguay.
