I suggest xbox's controller, ps5's dualsense controller are not fully functional on any OS except for PS5s, on the other hand xbox controllers will give you multiple OS support without having to tweak much and it's cheaper too, which means you can replace it without too much hesitation after it gets old and non functional, PS5s dualsense will cost you hefty amount of money. Both won't last forever you'd certainly need to replace them in future and xbox's controller will give you no digestion problem during your purchase. I have PS5 dualsense though and i use it on my macOS which was a blunder on my side and it doesn't give me full functionality and only some games that are available on steam that are locked behind pay wall supports functionality that are available on the xbox or any generic controller. Using dualsense on macOS was my blunder though. Same goes for windows though for functionality of dualsense in it, xbox controller will support better on windows since its the parent company of the xbox series.

I paired it with my Phone but the trackpad doesn't work. With my old PS4 controller I can use the trackpad like a mouse but on the ps5 controller it doesn't register it.. any advice?

I am having the same issue, the touchpad works for the ps 4 controller only, and it doesn't work in-game. On both controllers the analog stick and the d-pad swipes screens but it does not change the focus on objects (so I cant select apps with it on the home screen for example) I am trying to play star wars kotor 1 with it, but it doesn't work. When I press help, it shows xbox-like prompts (A instead of X, B instead of circle stuff like that). It is like the controller is not handled as a controller or at least by the game it isn't.

Its a system/android problem, for example i had the poco x3 NFC and didnt work, same problem, now o changed for poco x6 pro with the new Hyper OS based on android 14 and it works perfect

For me, it's to play with some friends who play a mobile game and don't have a PS5. Everyone will have their own reason. But if you're going to play something on mobile, it's wonderful to be able to use a controller.
