Excellent video! Thanks for the tip. Here in America I’ve seen many people use this method successfully. They have a roof hook that they attach to the ladder here in America. You don’t see roof ladders that much here in the USA. Thousands of people use this method in the USA. It would be safer if you had a rope that you could secure yourself to something that would catch your fall in case something went wrong. Although there are videos all over KZbin showing people use the same method that you’re showing here with great success. Thanks for the video! Ridge tiles don’t even play a part, the cat ladder shouldnt be using the ridge tiles, it bends over the ridge onto the tiles on the other side of the roof. I did it following this video, off a ladder with a good 'stability bar ' at the base, and a quality stay at the top to make it very stable. But I'd only recommend this if you're quite agile, have reasonable upper body stregnth and a head for heights. The prospect of doing a Rod Hull is very real even just from the gutter line of a 3 bed semi. Decent scaffolding makes all the difference but costs with it. However, in perspective, your life / continued mobility are worth the expense of a scaffold / paying a pro to get up there for you if you're in any way not confident.

It would be advisable to tie rope to the top part of the ladder and send the rope down the roof to tie the rope somewhere CERTAIN NOT TO MOVE so that when climbing upward or downward is hapenning the top if the ladder is being pulled down on. No matter what thouh, climbing roofs is dangerous. Safety equipment attached to you and to the chimney would make climbing safer but HOW to set this up when you have to make it to the rooftop?
@johnbonner2586 жыл бұрын
I've been a roofer for 36 years, as your type of DIY ladder only makes contact in four places that is where all the pressure is and where it will break the slates /tiles, as opposed to a ridge ladder that makes contact with the whole of the roof.

The US prices also reflect on the cost of the brushes and adapters, it’s really ridiculous. 👍🏻👍🏻
