Please, make more videos! Watching and listening to you is very pleasant, you explain EVERYTHING and go straight to the point. There’s nothing in your videos I’d skip or get annoyed with. I love your background, it’s so geeky and nerdy 😁 And seeing this machine makes me want to have it, so I could make Nightwing patch for myself, lol. You’re fantastic, please keep teaching us. Your camera angles are perfect and I love how you describe every step. Or how to choose the right side of the paper. A lot of KZbinrs skip things like that, because they’re “so” obvious and talk about something else. With you, it’s easier to learn. I can literally buy this machine and without any previous experience, turn it on and use it. What I would like to see? Continue with basics and beginners guide, explain how to use tools and what are they for. Greetings from Scotland xx

I have this machine. Bought it 11 yrs ago to fancy up clothing for my elementary aged granddaughter. Used it a couple times and she lost interest so its been sitting since. I plugged it in tonight and it came right on. Had kept it covered but will throughly clean it before I use it again. I use my very old Brother machine for regular sewing. I recently lost over 100lbs and need to cut down my clothes (had bought a whole new wardrobe and then got very sick). So, I treated myself to a Brother serger machine. I started sewing at 9yo on a Singer treadle sewing machine. I went on to making mine, my husband and kids clothes. I just can't give away those clothes I just bought when I know I'm capable of cutting them down. I never picked up the embrodiry cards so could you direct me to where I can find eome of the memory cards? Your tutorial was thurough, easy to follow and interesting. Definitely a new eubscriber here.

Also, I have several hoop sizes but it always tells me my image is too big! Have you ever done “zoom” lessons?
@TockCustom4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, I'm not familiar with that specific machine - but I'm curious what the hoop size is, and if you're making your own custom graphics. I did do a video on doing custom embroidery designs which might help. I do have Zoom Premium, but I've never done a formal "lesson" - I might be able to give that a shot! Thanks for watching, let me know if you have any other questions!

@yelir4 Жыл бұрын
@@ashleykirkham4181 i recognize this comment is old but embroidery machines have maximum embroidery sizes, which is independent of the hoop, so you can only import files within that size. for example the SE-240 has a 4x4" embroidery area, however I believe the maximum dimensions you could import would be 3.94x3.94"

I really enjoyed this! I've owned an apparel business for 5 years now as a retailer. We recently started our own private label business, and I'm fascinated by the most cost-efficient ways to personalize the product for customers. Embroidery seems like an amazing option. My question is: Time. How much time does it take to produce a single patch like the one in this video? I'm asking to better understand what my costs would be to hire, train, and over-pay my staff to create customized products. Thanks again for the help!
@TockCustom4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the design itself, specifically the size, and the number of colors in an embroidery. For example, every thread color switch has to be done manually with this machine. So this particular patch was maybe 10 minutes total. There are of course embroidery machines that have 8 or 12 needles with several colors, and everything is automated, but those machines can be around $10,000 or more - whereas this machine was only $300. Great question, and thank you for watching!

Embroidery thread is 100% synthetic and will glide very smoothly through your machine and needle, it's also important to use 'embroidery bobbin thread' also, which is much finer and smoother than typical sew-all thread. The idea is that the two threads together are very fine and glide without snags. It's also important to have a "Machine Embroidery", or "Stick-Nadel Embroidery" Needle - which is also very thin with a wide eye. If the tread gets too thick, it will create a knot, pull your needle to one side and hit your presser foot - which will make it break. All of the threads and needles I mentioned are very cheap, so you won't have to spend more than 10 or 15 bucks to get what you need. Hope this helps, let me know if you're still having issues!

@@TockCustom Thanks so much! I appreciate your easy to understand videos and active comment section! I have embroidery bobbin thread and will look through my supplies for the needle and thread and buy whatever's missing! I'm just now learning to use my machine etc which my mom purchased for me with various accouterments years and years ago; so i'm often pleasantly surprised to learn I already own what I need, I just didn't know what it was yet!

Awesome instructor Tock. Can you show what happens when your tension is not set correctly? I have a PE800 and my thread keeps breaking. It will make a harsh clanking and then break or when I’ve adjusted the top tension it will embroider for a short bit and break again. It so frustrating not to mention the project gets ruined. Can you help?
@TockCustom5 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner! I'm sure you've played with the top tension a bunch, BUT there is a way to adjust the tension of the bobbin thread inside the bobbin casing. It's a little more sophisticated than the dial at the top, but it can be done. You may have to find another video... but basically, you open the plate, and look for a very small screw to tighten or loosen according to your needs. I really wish I could be more helpful, but I've had to deal with this as well. Hope you found something that works by now!

Is this the only way to put designs onto garments or can you just embroid directly onto the garment? So like with this Zelda shield could you just embroid it directly onto the trousers and bypass all the other stuff with fancy paper etc?
@TockCustom4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question - So when I embroider directly onto garments, I do it during construction... so I would cut out my panels of fabric, then embroidery my graphic, and then assemble the garment. That way if something goes wrong with the embroidery, I didn't just destroy something I really liked. It's not common, but it does happen. If you plan to embroidery existing clothes, just make sure you're very familiar with embroidery so you don't end up having to trash some of your favorite clothes. Hope this makes sense, thanks for watching, and thanks for a terrific question!

You can do upholstery with this machine, but I'd definitely recommend a heavy duty machine like the Brother ST150HDH. Only about $300 and it a sew through some very thick materials 🙂

what is the difference between bobbin embroidery thread and regular embroidery thread? Are they both polyester? (sorry for all of the questions, you just seem to be the most educated youtuber ive seen) ♡
@TockCustom4 жыл бұрын
They're both polyester, embroidery bobbin thread is spun a little thinner and tighter, so it glides more easily. It's also nice because you can fit more thread on one bobbin than standard sew-all thread. It's funny that you think I'm that educated too... I'm self taught, but I guess I do a lot of research lol

Great video. Thanks i was just looking at the brother pe770 yesterday didn’t pull the trigger. Your patch came out so good. I’m thinking I should keep the extra money in my pocket and get the machine you have. Dude. Keep making videos. Please. You didn’t show how you threaded the embroidery thread. Is it the same as threading the machine like your sewing minus threading the needle?
@TockCustom6 жыл бұрын
Good call for sure! Yeah, you just wind the bobbin and thread the machine the same exact way as the previous video. Hope you're able to make something awesome!
@jenny2times4 жыл бұрын
Do you have to change the bobbin for each color change as well? Sorry if you already answered this question
@TockCustom4 жыл бұрын
Nope! Usually if I'm embroidering on a dark fabric, I'll just use black bobbin thread, and white for light colors. It's also good to keep track of how much thread is on your bobbin between color changes because it's a pain in the ass to wind a fresh bobbin in the middle of one color. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions
@roseruiz47174 жыл бұрын
The tutorial was great. What tension do you have it on for embroidery? Thanks
@TockCustom4 жыл бұрын
I normally leave it around 4 for tension, if you set it higher, you'll start to see your bobbin thread on your embroideries (which is bad). You can also adjust the bobbin tension to keep it under the fabric so it doesn't show at all which really helps :)

The card and USB cord come with the software. You can also download pre-made embroidery files and just use a basic printer style USB cord to get the files onto your machine. When you plug in your machine to your PC, it should show up like an SD card or external storage to drop PES files into :) Hope that helps!
