Your videos are the easiest how-to-sew videos that I've ever watched! PLEASE keep them coming! I got my Brother machine a year ago and never touched it, but I finally decided to start sewing after watching this video because it's the only one that made the process actually make sense.

I am truly happy to hear that these are so helpful! I've been starting with a lot of "Intro to Sewing" videos, but I'll be doing more practical projects after new years. So enjoy learning your equipment, and soon enough you'll be making some very exciting things! Thanks for the positive feedback, and happy new year!

Don't know if you'll ever see this comment. But Thank you for making it. I'm a 57y,old biker that has one-one left to sew for me. I have many leather vests with patches on them. My patches are a right of passage in my world (think of a boy scout with all his earned patches on his shirt). I needed to get 10 sewn on and a local tailer said $20 each. I realized I needed a lot more that 10 and I just couldn't afford it. I borrowed a little singer prelude watched and learned. I watched 4 or5 other videos before yours. You make it seem easy and the directions are clear, THANKS

Just subscribed and now, getting dressed and on my way to the craft store to pick up my first sewing machine. 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️ My mother used to make EVERYTHING for me, then Father called her to come home (heaven) and now I am lost without her. 😩 Kicking myself for not learning when she was here. BUT, I AM DETERMINED to learn so bye.. need to go get my supplies. See you in the next video 😊😊

My Brother was a gift more than two years ago... and trust me when I say, I watched many videos. Now you have to understand that I have been sewing since I was 7 on an old Singer and made everything for coats to suits. At 66 and beginning to thing about retirement and hubby brought me the Brother.. Guess I was scared of it ... but rather that hurt his feelings, TODAY.. was the second time I tried to thread it and run it... I DID IT.. your instructions are flawless.. and now, at 69, you will have to excuse me for I have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks and have a wonderful day.

OOMGOSH! Thank you so much. I bought the Brother SE425 as a gift for myself in Christmas 2019. I never took it out of the box. I was still using the basic mechanical Kenmore that an Aunt bought for me in high school (1976). My Kenmore finally broke down and I could not get the parts to repair. I had been avoiding my Brother SE425 because I am not a tech person. Honestly, the machine frightened me. I know that many will think that this video is very basic. However, it is just what I needed. I figured out how to thread the machine but I could not figure out how to select a particular stich. Thank you for this basic, hands on, instructions for this machine's operation. I needed it and I have now subscribed to your channel for further instruction on using my machine. THANK YOU.

I love your tutorials, I am just learning as I've designed beautiful dressing gowns but I never used a machine before. I've hand stitched the first one with tacking stich to make my first one but need to finish with a machine. I am quite scared because I don't want to damage it. When deciding which one to buy I watched your beginner tutorials and I have decided on the Brother. I am impatient and hate fiddly things but you make it easy to understand and I will just re watch as I thread etc.. you are a natural teacher. Thank you so much for doing this. I have a Singer that I'm planning on donating so the next person can fix why it sews a birdnest on the backside. No amount of threading/rethreading/adjusting the tension works and a girl only has so much patience! I acquired a used Brother SE400 and have been too intimidated to even try it… but my sanity is at stake and I knew I needed to get busy and try this machine. Thanks for a super easy video to introduce me to the basics. You had me at the self-threading needle!!

This is an older version of the current machine - which is the Brother SE-600 or 625. Same basic machine with more functions!

I've noticed with the SE400 that when you use the automatic thread cutter that when you start your next seam, the thread tail tends to get knotted under the fabric, so I just stopped using it. Oh, and thanks for the tip on the bobbin thread cutter. I've been using this machine for a year and didn't even know it was there. lol Great video Tock.

So glad I found your channel. Kinda wish I had found it before I bought my machine, a Singer 4423. The Brother SE-400 would have been a better choice I think. I scored my machine new off of EBay for $101 so I don’t feel too bad. I’d like to see you do a tutorial on making a back pack from canvas. Your videos are very motivational. Ty

I inherited all of my grandmothers sewing stuff upon her passing because I was the only one who showed interest in sewing. I have yet to figure out how to thread her sewing machine.. Hopefully this will help me figure it out! I look forward to learning how to sew in her memory.
