I use the Stripology slightly differently - beginning with the fold at the bottom instead of the top. Have you had trouble getting into the grooves when the ruler is new? Thank you for showing how to cut multiple strips! Great tutorial 🙂

I don’t recall it being a challenge to put the blade into the grooves when it was new, but I’ve had my ruler for a few years so there’s a chance it’s gotten a tiny bit easier with more use 😊

I love my Stripology XL! I sold my AccuQuilt because of it. So much easier to store.

Definitely much easier to store! I use my Stripology for all straight cuts like squares and rectangles and then I only use the accuquilt for triangles or curves lately

@@HomemadeEmilyJane I only used my AccuQuilt for strips and squares. So the Stripology is a good replacement. But if I did other shapes, the AccuQuilt is a great tool.

Can you cut strips by the 1/4" - 1.25 for example?

That’s a great question! This particular ruler is only every 1/2”

There is a way, by offsetting the ruler. I believe GE Designs has a tutorial on that subject. They also did just come out with a ruler specifically for 1/4" cuts, but it is not XL. I prefer the XL.

How do you ensure there is no bowing in the middle of the strip? I have found that the fabric is not always folded straight when coming off the bolt.

Definitely line up the selvages during the pressing stage before you start cutting! The manufacturing process utilizes machines to wrap the fabric around the bolts so it’s very very rare to actually be lined up correctly.

I can not figure out this ruler. I’m supposed to cut 3.5 stripes they come out at 3 what am I doing wrong?

To get 3.5” strips you’ll want to cut at “0”, and then begin cutting the strips at these marks: 3.5”, 7”, 10.5”, 14”, and 17.5”.
