The thing I don’t see people talk about is how even the xbox 360 had the option. It was big surprise to me since I had my Xbox 360 as main console until 2022 and I was a bit annoyed that I had to buy an adapter now.

This works (with lag), but be careful if you have limited bandwidth. For whatever strange reason, with Xbox Series X|S, Remote Play streams over the internet rather than just using your local wifi connection like it did on Xbox One (even though you’re in the same house and on the same local network), so you will be racking up that data usage per hour through your ISP. Not sure why they haven’t fixed this.

I think I understand and am having the same problem, everything in the video worked but once you connect you’re headphones for the audio the mic in the headphones negates the usb mic and makes it not pick up any audio, but whenever I have my headset unplugged and plugged into my actual monitor my usb mic seems to work just fine

@@artistoffwhite look up headset aux cords and find the one where the plug part has 3 black lines bc the one in the video only has two so it won’t pickup the microphone since the one with 3 is longer and has an extra part that is made for picking up microphones when the one with 2 doesn’t

So here's my problem. I set all this up, it seems like its all working, the audio levels on MW2 are reacting to my voice, it's getting audio. but it doesn't actually output any audio, nobody can hear me whatsoever and i have no idea what's wrong.

If you’re having problems with putting the njsj usb microphone into your xbox, as said it has an extendable usb chip that you can plug into the charging port of your xbox controller, as it has a headphone jack on it you could plug your headsets jack into the mic if you have a wired headset!

This worked perfectly and was super easy, thank you! For the time being I’m using a cheap pair of earbuds plugged into my laptop for audio because for some reason, my wireless gaming headset will play me audio from games and the Xbox but I’m not able to hear any audio from members of my party. Ideally I would be able to but I guess not, my plan is to either get some wireless earbuds that I can connect through Bluetooth to my laptop so I can hear game audio as well as party audio although if that doesn’t work because I’m using remote play with my Xbox then I will opt for high quality wired earphones and that will work just fine Anyways this video was super helpful, thank you so much!

This method works, but there is significant lag. I tried using it for recording an MLB The Show 23 game and I was always a fraction of a second behind on every swing. Probably fine for most games, but not for things that require precise and quick actions.

Some people reported this. I was able to play cod on this method with no issues. Also, you shouldn't be lagging if you use the screen you console is hooked up to not the pc screen.

Just a clarifying question, would this allow me to hear the game audio? Currently, I play on my Xbox while in a party through Game Bar on my PC. This means I cannot hear game audio with my current configuration. My goal is to use my mic and headphones on my PC while being able to hear the audio of the game while in a party. My take is that this video shows how to do that, however I just wanted to confirm before I spend time trying to configure it all correctly. Thank you for your video, though! Yes, all you will need to do is set up your headset on the gamebar to pick up the audio, and you're good. Now I will say some people have a syncing issue when it comes to game sound delay. I don't have this issue, but I wanted to throw it out there to you so you know. Ways to help with it is making sure pc and xbox are hooked up with ethernet cables and close by each other.

For whatever reason, the xbox party chat seems to pick up the mic while doing this method, but PUBG doesn't recognize the mic. Made sure to double check PUBG Settings and that it's set to open mic too. I have a Blue Yeti. Also tried doing the Y Splitter on the xbox controller to the USB mic and same deal, party chat recognizes the mic but not PUBG. I don't play cod so I can't test that, don't really play a whole lot of online multiplayer games on console.

I’ve followed this video and the mic is connected… but the mic is picking up the game noise and chat from the party… my expectations were to use this as my method of communication when playing online (call of duty!) I did use the Kinect before buying the series X which of course is no longer compatible. Do you have any further advice on blocking out the game and party chat audio from the tv? I run a similar way. In ear monitors with Astro mix amp and external mic. I’m assuming I would just plug the mix amp into my Xbox via usb, with my in ear monitors in the mix amp. Then use the method covered in the video to run the external mic.

Yea so it's been a while since I've actually done this method but if memory serves me right I had this issue in COD. so what I did is have the game open disconnect from remote play on the PC and Xbox and then reconnect while the game is up this seem to fix my audio issues for hearing game chat and voice chat and all that if I remember correctly. Give that a try especially if you're playing Call of Duty.

Hmmm I would start with making sure your internet is good reset the router before doing it. Also, if you can be wired on the internet, this will only help, too.

Hey Pugh! I've got an interesting question that I don't know if you will have any info on. Would an Elgato Capture card work with this method? Unfortunately, using console with the capture card, you have to have the Elgato plugged into your controller. So will you be able to capture voice and game chats with this method even though you don't have any controller for the aux to plug into? Thanks

so if you are wanting to stream. I would use this method and just capture the game play through remote stream like in this video then send it straight to obs or stream labs. this way you eliminate the need for a capture card and also this way will pick up both game and party chat on you stream no cables needed.

I get that you want audio from Xbox to PC, but streaming takes up a lot of bandwidth? Just so much, and also you would not get audio cues faster if you were just on your controller. A mixer would be a good option. Or go into your PC settings and get the audio from your capture to your usb headset, forgot how to do it.

So to be honest my audio match up fine I've never had this issue I can see how it could become a issue but like you said their is a way to make it match up in setting. For simple KZbin comment I do for audio only on my pc for my Xbox with the elgato I do… windows search bar>sound>soundcontrol panel> recording>game capture (capture card, mine is HD60s) set as “default device” after that you should have audio to your PC from your console using the elgato, hope you read this and helps your next short!!

My screen still shows they cant find a microphone and i can hear myself through my headset and party members hesr me twice, idk what else to do

I got the mic to work but everyone I plug in my headset to my controller it stops working. How can I make it so that it doesn’t do that

good question. when you plug in a headset to the controller the audio is converted to the controller automatically making all audio come through there. you could always plug the headset up to the pc as well and run all audio through your pc just change audio on the game bar to come through that. if the cable for your headset isn't long enough, they sell pretty cheap female to male 3.5mm extender on amazon.

Yeah you won't be able to you can though download streamlabs or OBS and go live with your stream using your computer with the remote play

So I tried this, but if you try to use your headset still connected to the Xbox it causes the game to have an echo bc you also have to have the headset connected to the pc to hear others in the party, plus games sounds are way to quiet, couldn’t control voice and game sounds from it

So, I used this method yesterday and had no issues. Just use the headset connected to the pc that's how I run this method and works fine not sure on it be8ng low its nice and loud for me I would think this is a setting turned down somewhere.

Out of curiosity how can i stop echo? Im currently with the blue yeti usb and a set of steel series wireless with a built in mic

U will need to mute the mic on your headset

@PughsReview I believe I figured it out I went into the properties of the blue yeti on my pc and lowered its volume down and I believe that fixed it, because that was the only notable change I made. I did attempt to use a set of hyperX headphones and I did detach the removable mic but that actually for some reason completely cut my (playback audio) that the yeti is able to perform....tbh I think the volume being lowered and me just unplugging and plugging back in the power cord to the mic are what fixed it, if anyone is reading this the way shown in the video does work, hopefully reading this will help if your friends complain of echos in the party chat

you talking about headset sound? and unplug you mic then plug it back in to try and get it to come up.
