I managed to do exactly as you explained, congratulations on the video. But unfortunately I couldn't play on COD. The NAT is Strict and when searching for a match the message returns: Unable to connect to a data center. Any tips?

Use a different VPN protocol. i find Cod, xdefiant, and a few other noteworthy games block most modern vpns. i can confirm that openvpn UDP or TCP works - depending on the game you may have to change between the two.

Im lost. I have mullvad vpn and I have both my pc and xbox hardwired to my modem/router. I enable mobile hotspot on my ethernet connection from similar vids then go to network connections. I see local area connection and two ethernets. the one im currently connected too and another with a red x. which one do I click on to do sharing with? I assume I click on local are connection when I click the dropdown.

@burnerman526 your xbox has to be wired to the pc. If your using the Hotspot method you aren't using a wire on anything except the pc. Then your broadcasting a network from the pc that the console can join. If your going the wire route, your PC joins your normal wifi that you always join, then you plug a cable from your pc to your xbox. Depending which setup you use depends what your sharing to within windows. If using wireless, ypur sharing your vpn to the Hotspot adapter. If your using the wire, you share to the ethernet adapter that your xbox is plugged into (your laptop/pc)

i did this with proton vpn and was using my laptop for a wireless connection. it was connecting and my laptop was showing my xbox on the hotspot menu but my xbox wasnt getting any type of internet connection if you've ever tried it with proton do you know if theres a fix?

@sustainedx999 change protocol. Reset mac on xbox clear dns on pc. Remove any static addresses in networking tab of pc (dns, static ip). Disable and re enable both your adapter your xbox is on aswell as the line In. Around this time is when you reset mac on the xbox. When xbox turns back on, Connecting the VPN should now work if done correctly

ok i fixed that but my xbox 360 says its an ip address error, i tried putting in a static ip address error, that didnt work either, it also said to change dhcp settings or something, how do i do that

@lithuanianballer3859 your vpn will handle dhcp. You need to turn the console off. Turn the vpn off. Then, un share the connection from the "virtual" vpn adapter. At this point, you also want to default the dns and any static ips left in the ipv4 section of the adapter. Now, at this point, you go to the adapter ypu have your console on and do the same. Wipe any dns or static settings. Keep in mind 360 doesn't support anything newer than the "openvpn" protocol. Most modern stuff won't work with it. Anyhow once you have followed these steps you turn the console off, re-enable both adapters and as the console is turning on you re-enable both and then add the sharing from the vpn

@lithuanianballer3859 udp is usually best but for 360 I find tcp is what is most often suggested. This is assuming you'll be using the openvpn protocol
