I ordered from ABR. I called them. They answered with a human. How about that? A real person. Very helpful. Got exactly what I needed and it works great. Very high quality. I have a high attention to detail and I am very impressed. I'm ordering only ABR cable from now on.

ABR Customer service is outstanding. I placed my order after watching this video, shortly after I get an e mail from ABR about my order. They pointed out that I selected two different type of PL 259 connectors. One end was Solder/Solder and the other end was Solder/Crimp and they just wanted to make sure that is what I wanted. Well it wasn't, I told them what I wanted and they made the changes, and I thanked them for catching my error. Some would have said WELL that's what he ordered.

Scott, Hope your condition is improving. I know this has been a difficult time for you. I also hope you get the proper restitution from the other driver so you are made whole. You guided me along prior to me earning my Tech license and still love your content to this day. All the best! Bill - KO4VBL

"It's easy if you know what your doing..." Well, there's my problem right there! 🤣Seriously, can you get shorter lengths? I have no need for 50' of anything right now. EDIT: And it's SO GOOD to see you back! Feel better soon, man!

I ordered over $300 worth of custom cables & jumpers with ferrites a few months ago. It's awesome to have the correct connector and avoid any & all adapters. For LMR400 & 600, ABR offers two types: solid Core and stranded core UF (Ultra-Flex). LMR400UF has a 3in bend radius. When I received my order, the receipt had a signed 'thank you' on it by the owner! ABR is also a huge government and military supplier. I am 100% satisfied with ABR. The referenced Italian coax is excellent quality and will also make custom cables, but it has to come from Italy so it costs accordingly.

Thanks for sharing that! I wasn't knocking M&P, but as you say due to the location it is pricey to get it here even if you order it from Gigaparts. Thanks for the comment and for watching. 73!

Great to see you are back and on the mend. In the UK the first tier of license limits you to only 10 watts, so it is really vital that your antenna system is as efficient as possible, you want every one of Callum's "Wiggles" getting to the antenna and carrying your output through the air, and a cheap Coax will kill all your efforts dead for the sake of a few quid! Some will spend 1000s on a rig and antenna, but blanche at paying for decent coax. thinking it is just wire! Running QRP power levels is hard, so why make things harder by being a cheapskate! Paying the extra is well worth it, low loss cable equals range, and that is what we all strive for! 73 Jim M7BXT

I completely agree. I live by the motto of buy once, cry once. In doing so, I make sure I get the best I can afford so I am not bothered with having to replace it again in a short time. Thanks for the comment and for watching. 73!

I got a 50 ft cable with the built-in ferrite chokes from an antenna that I bought that came with it (won't mention the antenna company). Definitely a good cable! Thanks for showing the ABR site and their cable builder! Looks like you're doing better! 73!

I just order 50' with the 7 ferrite, I also sent them an e mail suggesting a drop down and/or search of common name coax that will bring back result cross referencing their product, not everyone knows AB240UF but will know RG58 8x, LMR 400 etc. This will help take out some of the guess work. I also order a 2' choke, I was going to get one from Chameleon but I already have a few of their products, gotta give ABR a shake. Thanks for the video

I think you will be very happy with the ABR stuff. They are top notch cable and I would put them in the same category as Messi & Paoloni, just more affordable and local. Let me know how you like it after you get it and use it for as while. Thanks for the comment and for watching. 73!

It's good to see you with those vertebrae vertical. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. If you are able to do so, would you please compare ABR, Cable Experts, WireMan, etc.? Would you consider them of comparable quality of construction?

what type of coax do you recommended for a 50ft cable for use in POTA with a trapped vertical ? Choke ?
@HR4NT
@HR4NT Жыл бұрын
ABR's 240UF should be fine. As far as a choke, that is something you would have to determine if it helps with your specific antenna. It may or may not benefit from having a choke attached, hence why I prefer that choke to be a separate item in my gear. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment and for watching. 73!

I've almost dropped the hammer on some of their stuff, but it's kind of convoluted, I'm not really sure what I'm buying because of all the rebranding, I wish they had a solid key for a reference.
