@weak2297 Both pirated and steam games don't work. I found out that the cable was the problem and the write speeed itself is low.

Thank you , thank you, thank you my main man. I recently sold my PS five because I got a steam deck and I’m an Xbox fan who has the XS. There are only a handful of exclusives that I wanted to play on PlayStation that steam offer so it only made sense to me to use the steam platform to play those PlayStation games as well as PC games. I updated the ram in my laptop and quickly realized that the SSD inside my laptop was insufficient. I went and got a 5 TB HDD Drive for 119 bucks at Best Buy and utilizing the information that you gave in this very quick concise infotainment video. I am so happy to report. I now have tons of room for all the games that I want to put on my laptop and take with me anywhere I go. Thank you so much please continue with great videos like this.

You might have been able to download to your PC/laptop then drag and drop to the external drive. This was useful, though, I agree, in being able to avoid that step.

Ok this video helps. I got an Acer nitro 5 and am finally able to play more recent games on it. It runs great but has small space. I've been trying to figure out if I could get a hard drive to place my games there and how I could transfer them. Would a regular 2TB external hard drive work well with my laptop? shut down your laptop, unplug the external hard drive and then boot up your laptop again and you are good to go

Did you change the game directory on the launcher? The launcher has a set path where it will scan for the games that have been downloaded, if you haven't changed the file path in the launcher to the file path where you moved the games then obviously it won't detect that the games have been downloaded and will make you download them again

I bought the Asus rog ally z1 extreme and it only had 500gb of storage so I installed a 2 tb ssd and I had the nvme ssd so I picked up a ssd enclosure for it and want to use it to store games on like games for emulation and such and this is the only channel that makes sense to me

Hello, could you please give me some advice for the following: I have 2 desktop PC's, one is bigger case and the other a more compact one. The big one has windows 7 while the smaller one has windows 10. The big one has a hdd storage while the smaller one has ssd. So, I'm trying to replace the bigger ones motherboard with the smaller ones more upgraded motherboard with the ssd (with windows 10), but still keep the hdd (with windows 7 still installed) and connect it to the motherboard as a secondary storage. Is this possible? Other Questions: 1. Do I have to wipe the bigger ones hdd to prevent any issues with the pc booting from the wrong drive? 2. Should I also swap the power supply? 3. The bigger one has a dvd/blue ray disc drive, the smaller one doesn't (person I bought it from said he took it out for better performance), can I connect the drive to the replaced motherboard without any issues? 4. Since I'm using the same ssd that was originally connected to the smaller ones motherboard, I wouldn't need to reinstall windows 10 right? 5. Any other factors I should consider to prevent any issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, if properly set up, you should be able to move your Steam games to an external hard drive to free up room on your internal hard drive.

Two years later . Black Ops 6 take up 350GB. CRAZY ! I just bought a Zephyrus G14 with 500GB for $1500. I just purchased external hard drive worth 2TB. I just don't understand how to install updates to BO6 of the games downloaded on the laptop but the laptop doesn't have any memory available. Do I have to uninstall the game and redownload it on the external drive so I can make updates ? I didn't think I can use the storage on the external drive to make updates when the game is downloaded on the laptop itself .....

U can do that on the same screen where you moved the game files to the SSD. Right click on the game --> Click on Move install folder --> select any folder on your PC and click Move Folder. Then you should be done :D
