so nice to see that people are still using the 4000. had to let mine go because of deskspace issues. would love to see it hooked up to the novation peak and see some midi and sampling action! (still waiting for my peak to arrive - need some youtube videos to get through this ;))

Great job breaking down the process. I will also be adding a video on my channel that breaks down the process of dragging the files from your computer to the MPC4000 via the Ak.sys software. I believe this is the most efficient process by far!

Yooo I have a big question here family! My 4000 has started humming a bit from its outputs.... before I get into having it worked on... I’m wondering if there is an alternate way to harvest my libraries FROM the 4000 onto my computer without using the outputs. Just get the folders off so I can use them in my daw until I get the hum fixed and can record like usual 🙏 even if you don’t know how, it would be a huge relief just to know that this is possible or not. ❤️

How actually move files or even whole folder from USB drive to internal HDD without loading sample by sample to internal memory? Is it possible at all? Because I'd like to move my drum library to AKAI's internal HDD for more comfortable use but my library is too big to transfer it sample by sample.

Curious about the MPC4000 . . Did you end up keeping it? I already had MPC2000XL since new, and MPC1000... and some of the 4000 features definitely look cool .. but then I guess one may prefer to go for a new gen machine these days? (I haven't used any of those either, though!) I'd be keen to hear what you think.

I gotta 1000 500 4000 and Live.. The Live has the easiest work flow..definitely should have a new gen MPC in your arsenal..you can do everything in the box

Thanks so much for these tutorials! Is there ever a situation where the external usb drive needs to be formatted a specific way so it works with the 4k? I can see the thumb you linked at amazon just works out of the box.

Yea it should be formatted to FAT32. try that out with yours first before purchasing another

@@percussionboy4357 late reply - the MPC4000 can format the drive if it is not FAT32 pre formated, but it will wipe the drive in the process of course.

Great videos, and thank you for what you do.. 10 yrs ago when I had my 4000 I used the Akai sys software and usb straight to my PC. Drag and drop files all day back and forth. All I had to do was install the 4k usb driver to my PC and install the Akai sys program. Here is a link to the Akai page with the drives and program. PC & Mac. NOTE, if you try to copy to many files at once it would crash. don't remember how many but it had to be a lot for this to happen. I would drag several hundred at a time with no problem. Thanks Mark. Former GC,Om.. Kinda miss that gig.. www.akaipro.com/products/legacy/mpc-4000

A general 4k question: Is there any fix for the fan noise? My MPC sounds like an air conditioner in July. Is there a quieter replacement fan to install? A specific model of SSD? Thanks ...
@RickyTinez6 жыл бұрын
I use this SSD: amzn.to/2ljlIQP You'll need an adapter to make it fit though which is like another $15-20. As far as the fan noise i'm not too sure. Luckily these are like Old PC's and i'd liek to say any fan replacement should work as long as its the same specs.

Aye bro thanks for the 4000 videos, very helpful! I just purchased my second 4000 used. Didn't really get a chance to test it out before I bought it. I followed you video about chopping samples after failing to get where I was trying to go the way I am used to . Your way confirmed that my unit is not performing properly. Actually there's a few things wrong with it. I'm actually thinking about having it rebuilt. Was thinking of giving mpcstuff a try, Any suggestions?
