In this video, I discuss the three basic uses for the F attachment -- range, technical facility, and trills.

These trombones honestly make the most sense to buy for schools/general ensembles. The attachment takes practice, but by buying all F attachments for a school would allow the younger grades to still play the normal tenor trombone, but then they start to use the trigger/compensating system in high school, and even maybe college when and if they move on. It just makes more sense, because all you have to do is not use the trigger. It's not anymore awkward weight wise, I've played one for a bit, and it's the same as a normal tenor trombone without the trigger.

So the F attachment trombone is the same a what they refer to trigger trombone? Thanks!

Yes, same thing. Trigger trombone kind of has a middle school kind of ring to it.

Mr. Wizard-Knight , Great! Thanks for watching my video. An F attachment really adds a lot to a trombone. I am currently playing an Edwards T-396A tenor and I love it!

Mr. Wizard-Knight I've been playing for about twenty years. I'm in the United States Army Active Duty Bands. I'm sure you're a great player yourself!

Harrison Reed Awesome! :D :D :D :D :D 👏👏👏👏 And I wish! 😝 I always make a fool of myself trying to sight read what I'm assigned to play with Murton Brass Band and it's very embarrassing that I fail to use my slide properly and tongue correctly when playing easy parts with the Sunderland Youth Orchestra! 😝
