This is my number one nemesis. When I file a page into "Grammarly" at least a third of my sentences are marked "passive voice." It's enough to drive you mad. You are the only one who as actually described the taboo. I think you would make an excellent professor. lol :)

I learned this valuable principle too late during my senior year in high school. However, I took this into college and became a strong writer and communicator in every class and role I took. I wish I had learned this early in my Freshman year in high school, I would have been better at writing and speaking.

Good explanation. The reason I think there's so much passive voice is that active voice requires more knowledge and commitment. Probably why lots of politicians use passive voice. :)

I actually like the passive voice, or to put it in a better way, the passive voice is something I enjoy using. While I admit there are problems with using it there are a host of problems with using the active voice as well and one of them is that people can sound very pretentious. I old enough to have been around in the 80 and people could discuss things everything from movies to politics and not get into a heated discussion. Putting everything in the active voice now if I didn't like the movie, or disagree with a political view, suddenly it seems like I am attacking you personally which is not my intention. Also, if you wish to and nuance to a conversation then consider using the passive voice.

if it helps, you can chance the playback speed of the video, although that might make her voice sound really slow 😂

Only bother writing in the active voice during a rewrite. It's really easy to fix, but just another distraction in the moment.

Informative, though, I suggest slowing down. You managed the concept, but others not as much. So, speaking fast makes it difficult to grasp the information.

subjects are conjugated, and agents act the verb. Any linguist will tell you this.
