The 2020 Prius Prime LE should really have an update to support this. The head unit is exactly the same as the 2021 (from what I’ve seen in the parts catalog), and I’d be willing to pay a few hundred bucks to make it happen.

2020 Toyota Camry using Android Auto with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and a USB cable. If I disconnect the cable and then connect the cable it will not connect to Android Auto unless I turn off the cars engine, and while the USB cable is still plugged in, start the car and then it will connect. If I disconnect the USB cable from either the phone or from car should I have to turn off the engine then turn the engine back on for Android Auto to work? I have the latest version of Android Auto on my cell phone and I also hoping to fix the problem did an a software update on my car radio with no change. I have times when Android Auto drops out and won't connect until I pull over shut the engine off then back on. I have tried several know good cables and all have this same issue. Using the same cables on my computer for file transfer show no issues of disconnect from my computer.

I had Android Auto in the 2016 VW Tiguan... Traded in the Tiguan for a 2018 Prius C, mainly because I'm doing Rideshare now after being laid off due to COIVD... I figured the newer vehicle would just have Android Auto, but NOPE... And there apparently is no update to the fancy radio in my "top of the line" trim level Prius C... I don't understand why, I would image that there's some sort of software update that could fix this... Apparently there is a replacement radio for $$$, but I've become used to just using my Phone for Work / Navigation. I will 100% pay closer attention to vehicle features in the future... but in the meantime, the Prius C is AMAZING on fuel, and that what counts doing Rideshare.

To make it work properly you need a phone with V.10 or higher You also need a USB Data lead, not a charging lead. This is important, otherwise it will keep disconnecting.

How do you turn off Bluetooth? It keeps automatically connecting to that and Wi-Fi. It's a '22, wired setup only. So it should not need Bluetooth/WiFi. I can't for the life of me figure out how to stop this. Apple Car Play is so much better. Luckily, this switch to Android is temporary.
