Hi Anthony how are you? I was wondering if I might ask you please about an automation issue Im having? I can write to instrument tracks but can't write to midi tracks. I'm guessing there's something in preferences I'm not checking/ticking, but can't for the life of me find it, many thanks Jon

Kind of. Automation is fundamentally track-based, so there's no concept of unlocking the track per se, but you CAN unlock it from the events that contain the music. The option is called "automation follows events", which you'll find in the 'Edit' menu.
