Thanks, really helpful - especially because Baxi's were recommended by heating engineers, but not enough about them on the web from the company yet. Also good tip relating to where to direct the condensate pipe to prevent it freezing in bad weather.

Baxi duo-tec and Platinum are the best boilers made over the last 12 years in my opinion. i have fitted lots of them and never have any issues.

Thank you, had one of thee boilers installed yesterday, heating dial only shows temperature range 10 - 30 degrees centigrade, not 20 to 80 as in your video, hence radiators are only luke warm. Installer said it was probably just the plumbing on the heating system. I have now phoned Baxi, explained the problem and they are sending an engineer out. Your video help me determine there was a fault, thanks for posting. Tim.

Thanks for putting this up, been in this house for years and didn't know how to use the timer as no explanation when I moved in; even tried the pegs etc but didn't realise there was a third position on the switch for timer so have just left it on 1 and used the thermostat to turn it on/off all this time! You're vid really helped! :) Looking forward to a warmer house to get out of bed to in future! :)

good video, we are getting a new Baxi fitted in a couple of weeks love the new combi's were you can set the water temp and the heating temp from my mobile and control my home temp- be careful though their are some sharks out there trying to rip you off , we had one guy quoted £3000 to fit a £1000 boiler in the existing location we got somebody to do it for 1/2 that.

I have this boiler and have a question. I have been turning the boiler on and off when needed in winter but I was told not to do that but to use the thermostat instead to turn heating off is this true? I am just worried if I did this it would still be using gas as the boiler would be set to heating and water. I am confused!

I have Baxi Duo Tec combi boiler much the same as this one, except I have a timer on the wall and not on the unit. My question is, how do I know if mine is a condensing boiler? it's about 8 years old now.
@muskndusk10 жыл бұрын
Whoever said these boilers save money was having a joke. My first quarterly bill was £500! I'm getting the meter checked! The E133 fault was sorted by the National Grid who were called out by Baxi to alter the gas pressure. Wish I'd kept the old boiler that was in the house or had a system like in my old house: a multi-point water heater and no central heating, just individual gas or fan heaters in the rooms. That house was cheaper to run AND had no double glazing. I'll be complaining to Baxi soon!
@suzannegamble93486 жыл бұрын
I have this combi boiler in a council flat it is brilliant but I must admit in the winter the pressure tends to drop and we find that when we put the hot water tap on it takes forever for the hot water to come through the tap?

Small correction about the pressure drop, it shouldn't happen too often. Of it does, you should check your system for leaks. Usually it's a wayward radiator.
@chamudissanayaka5775 Жыл бұрын
Hi I have the same boiler. Baxi duo tec combi 24 HE A. The only problem that I have is that I have to open the hot water tap in the kitchen or toilet sick half way through in order to get boiler hot water indicator to lit and then to kick on the boiler to heat up the hot water. So it is a lot of water waste. So it it possible to get it adjusted so if I open the hot water tap a little that the boiler kick on the burner to heat up the water?

@Danielcaie9211 жыл бұрын
It's a combination boiler so it can't heat central heating and hot water at the same time. So if you're heating is set to 'on' and you run a bath, your radiators will cool because all the heat is going to the hot taps because hot water is the priority. As soon as your bath is filled though the boiler will go back to heating the radiators. :)
@michaelhume86897 жыл бұрын
Hi mate ...just watched your video really good...just wondering if you might be able to help me...I can get hot water from kitchen and bath taps...but shower will not get as hot as bath...tried few things ...ran shower for few minutes and temp didn't go up...changed setting on boiler etc...but soon as but hot tap from bath on I got instead hot water but not on shower ???both shower and bath taps I believe run of same pipes?...do you have any idea why shower will not get warmer then Luke warm???

Hi Thx for the video quite useful. Daniel Caie has clrd one of my doubts reg why the central heating function switches OFF when the hot water is ON. This is what it does in my Potterton Apollo Condensing Combi boiler. Also, I wld like to know how to put the PRESSURE down. My one is touching 3bar when the hot water is ON and goes back to 2.3. However, it was at 1.6 only 10 days ago. Many thanks.

Regarding running into sink trap waste pipe, don't let the waste pipe get blocked & block the condensate outflow. Don't stuff veg waste or fats down your sink! I recently had to clean out a waste pipe, totally clogged with food gunge which was backing up the boiler condensate pipe!
@muskndusk10 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I had one of these fitted about a month ago via the gov's Green Deal. The house I bought had an antiquated boiler and hot water tank. A friend mentioned that these were available for people in low income brackets. I've had constant problems with it and the company keep promising to come out and deal with it, but don't. Keep getting an error code: E133; sometimes the reset works, sometimes it'll work the following day. The installer left the radiator knob turned to full, so I've turned it to the point you have it in your vid. I've also noticed that the white pipe goes to the outside! Do you have your flue next to a window? Is that safe?
