When products are applied to damp skin, they can absorb and lock in moisture more effectively, thus providing beneficial hydration. This makes moisturizing products particularly suitable for application on damp skin. However, some products might cause irritation or dilution of active ingredients due to faster absorption. Therefore, products such as those mentioned above could potentially lead to irritation.

Thank you 🙃 To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. My experience with The Ordinary's Ascorbic Acid and Alpha Arbutin was just okay. I can't definitively say how much it helped in fading my scars, and I wasn't fond of its oily formulation for facial use. However, their normal Alpha Arbutin is a water-based serum, so you could potentially combine it with the Good Molecules Discoloration Serum. If I had to choose just one, I'd opt for the Good Molecules Discoloration Serum. It has a nice blend of niacinamide and tranexamic acid, which could be more beneficial.

Hi Melissa! thank u soo much for the video. I was wondering if u would raccomend using this essence water with the Numbuzin No 3 Super Glowing Essence Toner?, i also use the cerave sa cleanser. My goal in my skincare is minimize pores and clear my skin from sebaceous filaments while having it glowy. Do you think these product are suitable?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 11 ай бұрын
Yes, you can, however, I recommend using COSRX Snail Essence or a Hyaluronic Acid Toner or Serum instead. Also, remember that the skin does not naturally glow that way as 'glass skin' is being promoted. For a temporary glow, you can use an exfoliant like an AHA or even a gentle scrub and then follow with a hydrating toner, essence, and/or serum afterwards...that's it.

Hi there, No subscriber here.. I have acne-prone skin. My skin care in the morning: wash my face with Cerav Acne cleanser, Dapsone, Clindamycin, Ginseng Essence water, serum, moisturizer, and then sunscreen. Evening: cerave cleanser, tretinoin, Ginseng essence water, serum, and then moisturizer. Am I doing the right procedure?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 4 ай бұрын
Hey! :) The order of application looks weird. What cleanser do you use in the PM? Use the essence and serum (wait for these to absorb +/- 5min) before applying your Dapsone and Clindamycin in the AM and Tretinoin in the PM and then follow with your moisturizer/sunscreen - in the AM. However, if the root cause of your acne comes from inside your body, such as your gut, then your routine won't target the root cause of your acne. Instead, you would need to focus on your diet, stress, and/or sleep.

Hello 🙃 Do you wash your face above the sink in the morning and take a shower in the evening? If so, this routine could be the reason why your skin doesn't seem to absorb many products, which can make it feel heavy and oily rather quickly. Additionally, you might want to consider skipping the moisturizer in the morning and simply using sunscreen instead. This approach could prevent overuse of products, as sunscreens typically contain hydrating ingredients. Using the peptide serum in the morning might be beneficial for you. It could be best to use it as an alternative to the niacinamide serum, to prevent your skin from feeling overly heavy. Here are two possible morning routines: AM1: Morning Routine: Cleanser: Avene Cleanance Cleansing Gel Toner: Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner Serum: Deconstruct 10% Niacinamide with 0.3% Alpha Arbutin (An Indian brand) (Optional) Moisturizer: Dot & Key Gel Moisturizer (An Indian brand) Sunscreen: Aqualogica SPF 50 (Also an Indian brand) AM2: Morning Routine: Cleanser: Avene Cleanance Cleansing Gel Toner: Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner Serum: Your favorite peptide serum (Optional) Moisturizer: Dot & Key Gel Moisturizer (An Indian brand) Sunscreen: Aqualogica SPF 50 (Also an Indian brand)

Also as you said I will alternate between niacinamide or vitamin c(will include vitamin c once niacinamide is over)and peptide serum in Morning Can you please suggest a good peptide is The ordinary one with copper peptides good? If yes is it okay to use this one in Morning and Retinol at night same day?or if I have applied retinol at night,can I still use copper peptides or any other peptides next morning? Can I also include an exfoliator once or twice a week at night?I feel my skin need some exfoliation,I am thinking of The ordinary lactic acid 5% serum, but I will go with your opinion?(for reference I have mentioned my night routine in 1st comment of mine) Lastly just want to know If overall routine is sufficient or do I need any other product,I have few dark acne marks on both cheeks two on each also have one latest pitted scar on forehead from chicken pox want to fill n fade that too,has alot of oiliness during summer and normal skin during winter get tanned very easily and oiliness and sweat makes very difficult for reapplication of sunscreen if m outside do you have any solution to that please? @@anjalitiwari3215 Our skin absorbs skincare products better after showering compared to washing your face above the sink. This is due to the increased temperature and humidity from the shower, which opens pores and hydrates the skin. Improved blood circulation aids in the distribution and penetration of skincare products. In contrast, washing your face at the sink is usually a quicker process with cooler water and may not provide the same level of pore opening and circulation stimulation. As for the Multi Peptide + HA serum, it's a more affordable option. There's not much evidence pointing to copper peptides working better-they're just more expensive. Since you're already using retinol and other products, I wouldn't suggest adding more unless you alternate daily. For example, you could use retinol on Monday, an exfoliant on Tuesday, and peptide on Wednesday, then start over. I believe you're already using many products, some of which may not be necessary. Try to keep your skincare routine simple. Regarding scars that aren't dark spots but physical ones, there's not much you can do except for microneedling and laser therapy. Topical products won't work for such scars, and they will always be visible. When I lived in Australia, I found that wearing protective clothing was the easiest option. Here's an example: sunprotectionaustralia.com/categories/men/sun-hats.html. I know reapplying can be difficult, but if you want to tan as little as possible, you need to do it. A light tan, however, is not something you should worry about. In fact, it can look quite beautiful. The most important thing is to protect your skin from excessive sun damage.

Well, if you consider this, then you also have to consider that you may be using too many hydrating ingredients, as they are also present in these formulations. So it's not really something to worry about. The only thing that may happen is when you use too much of each product, it may sit on the skin surface and cause skin sensitivities or an uncomfortable feeling. In that case, you need to adjust the amount you're using.

Hi Melissa! ❤️ I have oily to combination skin (my forehead and T-zone are oily, my cheeks are mainly dry but sometimes get oily). This is my skincare routine, please could you tell me your thoughts? I would like to start using either the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence OR the Cosrx Advanced Snail Radiance Dual Essence. I like the second one because it contains Niacinamide and I would like to have this ingredient in my routine. However, I know the first one is very popular and I have heard it is more suitable for my skin type. What would you suggest? 2. I would like to start using the Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum because I have heard very good things about this and it contains Niacinamide. However, does it do the same job as Alpha Arbutin at fading hyperpigmentation? Is there any point in using both at the same time? 3. If I do buy the Axis-Y product, is it better to buy the Cosrx Power Essence (not the Dual Essence) because the Axis-Y product contains Niacinamide already? And if I do go with this combination of products, should I remove Alpha Arbutin from my routine? Thank you very much!
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Жыл бұрын
These suggestions are largely subjective and depend on the individual recommending the products and the specific purpose they serve. Therefore, one product may appear more popular and receive more frequent recommendations due to its higher sales figures. Regarding the Axis Y Glow serum and the Dual Snail Essence, you don't necessarily need both. Personally, I like both products, but I find myself gravitating more towards the Dual Snail Essence. It seems to have a calming effect on my skin, or at least that's what I've observed. Here's an example of a daily skincare routine: AM Routine: Cerave Foaming Cleanser Cosrx Full Fit Propolis Synergy Toner COSRX Dual Essence The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum PM Routine: Cerave Foaming Cleanser Cosrx Full Fit Propolis Synergy Toner The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution (Use twice a week) Cerave Moisturizing Lotion However, you can also incorporate the Dual Essence into your evening routine, especially on days when you're not using the Salicylic Acid solution. It can even be a stand-alone product without the Cerave moisturizing lotion, as it contains everything your skin needs. Remember to adapt this routine based on your personal needs, preferences, and what works best for your skin.

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thank you so much! ❤️ So would you say Dual Essence is better overall compared to the Power Essence? Aside from the Dual Essence containing Niacinamide, I couldn’t find many further differences in terms of purpose. The Dual Essence is also more expensive so I wondered if this was because of the Niacinamide! Would you be able to explain any further differences between the two and the purposes of the Dual Essence? Should I continue to use Alpha Arbutin after I have introduced the Dual Essence? From my research it seems Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide both offer the same purpose in terms of fading hyperpigmentation, so I wasn’t sure if the Alpha Arbutin was still necessary. Or do they actually work really well when used together? I may be wrong and both ingredients serve more purposes than just fading hyperpigmentation! Thank you! 😊

@@user-fn4uu8if9e Essentially, yes, the COSRX Advanced Snail Radiance Dual Essence contains niacinamide, which has brightening properties. In addition, it is formulated with various nourishing and moisturizing oils such as Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, and Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil. These oils provide nourishment and moisturization to your skin. On the other hand, the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is primarily designed to hydrate and repair the skin. Its main focus is to keep your skin well-hydrated and aid in skin repair processes. You're correct that both alpha arbutin and niacinamide can help fade hyperpigmentation. However, they work in slightly different ways and can indeed be beneficial when used together.

Based on my acne journey and experience, I believe it is not ideal. I would prefer using a regular foaming cleanser and incorporating a gel moisturizer if necessary. It's also important to protect acne marks from UV light, as it can make a significant difference. AM: Clean face with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser or Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser (fragrance-free version). Apply a mineral sunscreen if you'll be exposed to the sun. PM: Clean face with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser or Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. Gently pat the skin dry. Apply Glycolic Acid or Salicylic Acid on alternate days. Wait a few minutes for it to work. Apply hyaluronic acid (use this when not using the moisturising gel). Apply niacinamide. Apply moisturizer (e.g., G&G Hydration Station or The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan). Avoid using the CeraVe moisturizer unless you have the Ultra-Light PM Lotion, as the others may be too rich for your skin.

Well, when it comes to dark spots, genetics plays a significant role, and factors like blood flow also contribute. Considering that you have already used it for a long time, it may be beneficial to try a formulation containing retinol, retinal, or retinoid. One of the top formulations available on the market is from G&G, called A-Game, which contains either 0.05% or 0.1% Adapelene (such as Differin Gel). You can give it a try to see how it works, but remember not to use exfoliating acids concurrently. Here's a suggested routine for application: Clean your face with CeraVe foaming cleanser. Gently pat the skin dry. Apply a pea-sized amount of the retinoid all over your face. Wait a couple of minutes for it to absorb. Follow up with a moisturizer. Remember to be consistent and patient with the new routine to see potential improvements in your skin.
