I purchased the bosch gws8-45 grinder and it says it’s not meant for cutting. Is this true? I thought all angle grinders do cutting with a cutting wheel.

Depending on the watt. I got mine GWS7 100et with speed variation. 750 watt

All grinders can use a wheel for cutting but not all grinders come with the proper safety guard. Most come with a type 27 suitable for grinding. When cutting, it is recommended to use at least a type 1 guard which will enclose part of the wheel to prevent pieces from flying in certain directions if the wheel shatters. Thats probably why the instruction manual of a grinder with a type 27 Guard says not fit for cutting.

You are totally doing it wrong, You placed both the cutting disc and the locking up side down, running the wrong direction, improper holding of the grinder etc. Glad the disc didn't explode on you. Guys, this video is quite misleading and don't follow these instructions for your own saftey. Angle grinder are extremely dangerous.
