How long do we need to inflate the pod for? Will the cartridge/inflator automatically stop when we need to close the outlet valve and remove the preservative?

You only need to inflate the pod for 2-3 seconds until you see its completely filled. The inflator/cartridge will not automatically stop. There is an handle where you can control the amount of preservative released, so you will need to stop it yourself. It's pretty easy to use. Let me know if you have any further questions.

@@figheadsctg4206 after you fill the shoe pod (bag) with the preservative you will open the outlet valve to release the air inside. At the end there will be a little preservative left in your bag when you place it back in the box. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey Ernest. I usually keep the shoes trees or paper that comes inside. But you can also add shoe trees if you like. Let me know if that answers your question.

Great question. Plastic bags or drop fronts are good for preventing dust and dirt. But not great for preventing oxidation and hydrolysis, which is what causes the yellowing and crumbling. Also for drop fronts just be careful of putting your shoes by a bright light or window. I have seen one shoe or one side of the shoe fade where the light comes in. Hope that helps!
