John, I reached out to Micheal Coppola to add data from the competition electronics chronograph, i sent him some samples. I also mentioned importing data from the shotmarker for seating depth section, he said he was looking for some sample exports, I dont have my shotmarker yet, so I cant get him any, any chance you could send him some shotmarker csv exports?

As I’m new to reloading would you choose 50.6 or 51.1? Obviously I can see that the 51.1 has a lower e/s, but is the 50.6 better because there’s less of a jump In between the loads?

Question. Is it better to do 10 5-shot groups or 5 10-shot strings when ladder testing?
@FClassJohn3 жыл бұрын
I don't know about best, but I always advocated for five shot groups.
@markahdz3 жыл бұрын
If you want to save some components you can start by testing charges to find the flat spot, usually the high spot its around 1- 1.5 grain under the max, but like always you need to test on the safe side, so you start and do increments of .2 grains once you found the spot then you can play with more shot groups on those chargers and also seating depth.
@bartoszwilk13823 жыл бұрын
Thanks John. But what IF there is no flattening at all? Do You just watch the grup sizes or change the powder or primer?
@graynotescartridgebox3 жыл бұрын
I’m not John, but I’d be changing powders first unless I was using one of the mainstays that should work for my cartridge. For instance a 6.5x47 that won’t shoot with H4350. If I was already using one of the best powders, I’d experiment with a different primer and rerun the test. I actually experienced this with my 6.5 PRC. I had no nodes to speak of. I also had no pressure signs, though I was at max charge. I’d done some reading and found the brass I was using wouldn’t get the same pressure as the published brass. I ended up working 1.5 gr higher and found a huge node just above where I’d stopped with the first test. I’m not advising you to go over published load data, but it did work for me.
@FClassJohn3 жыл бұрын
As Graynote said, I'd change things in some way until you find a flat spot. No flat spot indicates any number of things because there are always nodes and there will always be flat spots along those nodes. It could be poor brass prep, wrong powder, wrong powder charge, bad ignition, bad brass or any number of other things. First thing is make sure your ES numbers are under control and go from there.

Does a person always have to load 3 rounds for each powder charge?
@FClassJohn3 жыл бұрын
No, I normally do 5 but with powder running low I did a quick test to verify something and thought it'd be a good chance to do the video. 5 is really what should be done for really accurate results in my opinion.
@patruddiman42283 жыл бұрын
@@FClassJohn The test that I will be doing is for a Browning X-bolt hunting rifle. I see in your test you did 1 tenth of grain increments. I've always done 3 tenths because that is what I saw in previous KZbin videos. So I only shot 1 round for each powder charge. My biggest problem is I have plenty of powder and primers but low on bullets and I can't seem to find any unless I go to gun broker and pay 3 times the price.
@FClassJohn3 жыл бұрын
@@patruddiman4228 I'm not a big fan of doing 1 shot tests and as it is, I don't like 3 shot tests. Wayyyyy too many variable for it to be an accurate test I think. I know there's people who advocate for it but all it takes is one mistake or bad seating pressure or anything like that and the data is corrupt. But everyone does tests for different reasons so maybe for what they want to achieve it makes sense 🤷🏻♂️.

Hi, I’m the developer. Sorry you’re seeing this issue! Most likely what you’re seeing is a SmartScreen warning, it’s a standard warning Windows 10 shows for programs it hasn’t seen before. It should likely go away by the next couple days. Alternatively, you can click "More info" and "Run anyway" to run the program without waiting. If there’s still concern, you can submit the program to VirusTotal and see that every antivirus marks it safe. Let me know if you have any questions, happy to explain further

@@markward4023 I was able to reproduce the error you're seeing with Microsoft Edge. If you hold your mouse over the file in the Downloads list, you should see a "..." button. Then click "Keep", then "Show more" and "Keep anyway". It's blocking it because the file "is not commonly downloaded." You may want to go to the Long Range Hunting blog and see the /labradar-great-data-terrible-implementation-partial-solution-inside.221826/ thread.... It explains how the labradar just SWAGs the V0. The regression modelling corrects for this... but you would have to enter the data by hand. You are getting a manual entry program prepared, correct? Thanks so much! WillyB
