I applied this to damp skin only to wake up with drier skin and a rash on my neck. I even started getting lines on my face from it. This isn't hydrating but dehydrating. UPDATE: I had to stop using. It was giving me fungal acne. Face moisturizer started working better when I stopped. FYI I'm not allergic to shellfish.

Hey there! Some people experience redness in the skin or rosacea - this essence is great to help increase hydration and reduce the redness in the skin. But you wouldn't want to apply the essence to broken skin e.g. abrasions/cuts which can also have inflammation. I can understand why it is a bit confusing, hope that helps clarify :)

I have to remind myself to use just a little pump but I'm currently purging and I bought it to help decrease the irritation and redness -- it actually work and the irritated pimples actually tamed. So, that is why it felt greasy (I also have oily skin) bcos I'm putting too much.

I don’t usually have a problem with acne, yes I get pimple whenever my period arrives but now I notice bumps in my forehead. I remember then that I got the same reaction when I tried twice and then I stopped and picked it up again for a month, didn’t get a reaction and then I stopped since I stayed at home and just usually do cleanser, moistuizer and sunblock during day time. After almost a month, I remember it. Now, Ive been using it for five days and the bumps are back. There’s still probably 80% of unused essence. It made my skin soft though.

I had the same problem I've seen a dermatologist she said it's a reaction from the snail mucin and that it wasn't a good idea for my skin. I'm 36 she said it's for way older skin than mine like 20 more years. And that it is moisturizing and my skin didn't need that. I'm still trying to heal my skin because I had way more pumps now on my cheeks and forehead that is scaring my face. I do regret using trend stuff on my face. I didn't have issues I had lovely skin and now I hate to see the pigmentation that gave me after extraction of the whiteheads.

For the skin irritation, try mixing the snail mucin serum with organic aloe vera gel. I did and the skin irritation stopped occurring.

Hello! Actually essences are not moisturizers. They hydrate and prep the skin prior to applying serums and your moisturizer. They do not replace a moisturizer Are you sure your not thinking of the snail mucin all in one cream? As that is a different product from the cosrx snail mucin range :)

Hi can you please help me to start a skin care. So basically I have active acne ( pustules, nodules, cysts) and acne scars too.I also have small bumps over my face I don't know what it's called . Hey Jasmine, it is hard to recommend the exact routine to you when we haven't seen your skin. All of those ingredients are great for breakouts however if you have pustules, nodules and cysts you may need to see a dermatologist.

Hey Aleena, we recommend that most products are not used on Irritated or broken skin because it can cause stinging e.g a rash, or a cut. If you already use vitamin c serums - this essence will be absolutely fine. Xx

If you have dry skin, your skin lacks oil. You can still use this essence but it's focused on hydration. You will need to look at the cleanser you use to ensure it's not stripping your skin barrier (try a milk cleanser) and use a moisturiser that is tailored for dry skin.

A toner and serum depending on the type can also hydrate your skin but you still need to finish with a moisturizer. If you had an impaired barrier prior, most products will cause stinging or burning. Go back to basics of a cleanser and moisturizer to repair your damage skin barrier, also make sure your cleanser isn’t stripping your natural oils and causing the impaired skin barrier. This can happen with foam and gel cleansers. Once the barrier is repaired, you can patch test. If still experiencing a reaction stop use x

Are you sure the breakout was because of this. I have combination skin myself, nothing happened to me, except it gave a kind of glassy look. It can depend on your location I think, if you are in humid area like near the ocean. I live in Himachal and during this time it's winter and dry. That can be the only reason I can think of. India is a tropical country hence we don't need this product that much. Except in winters ofcourse.
