"Fwaygan" for Fuegan makes perfect sense when you consider the spanish word for fire is "fuego" (fwaygo), it's always how I've said it.

My favourite Aspect Warriors! I love these things, even if they haven't always been the best pick. The firepike is just badass. Hopefully one day they will get an updated sculpt too.

@ProxyHammer1 I managed to pick up a Wraithlord and Dire Avengers, new on sprue for well under the retail price, so pretty happy with that, just haven't managed to get Fire Dragons.

@@EliWintercross Patience is a virtue on them but ya I agree they are hard to get. I got mine for 15$ last edition on eBay, had to strip them but because they were metal they were easy to strip thankfully

I went 7-1 at the Tacoma Open (Captains bracket winner) and my list included Fuegan and Fire Dragons. Fuegan is especially good and I'll be bringing them competitively going forward

​​​@@ProxyHammer1I bring them with a falcon. I start it on the board and it usually goes up a flank. The Avatar usually holds down the middle to stall my opponents. Fuegan getting back up is extremely good, as is his beam attack + fate dice or simply getting lucky

@@ProxyHammer1 give that Avatar a shot, he's one of our nastiest overwatch units. Fate 6 for sustained hits D3 really packs a punch at 6+2 damage (same reason I like Fuegan (3 attack beam with sustained D3 does some serious work). That's why I think Fuegan is an auto include for dragons is he gives the squad a really nice play into bigger infantry units. At the Open he was a key unit for my victory into GSC (which is a ludicrously tough army to play into when they run the meta list).

I like these videos. Allways ends up inspiring some ideas for tactics of my own. Wave serpents can potentially carry two 5 man squads, having to squads of fire dragons could solve the overwatch problem (first squad out wont be happy though)

The problem with Fire dragons at present, is that there are better alternatives for the cost. The real problem with Dragons is that they need a transport to be effective. That makes them expensive for their use. When using Overwatch, can't you wait until the end of your opponents movement phase to shoot? That's what we've done. WHEN: Your opponent’s Movement or Charge phase, just after an enemy unit is set up or when an enemy unit starts or ends a Normal, Advance, Fall Back or Charge move. We've always used overwatch at the end of your opponents movement phase. From RAW, you are certainly correct. I'm inclined to believe your use is completely correct as well, one that I will use in our group. The only caveat I have to your tactic is that Dragons and a Falcon are a minimum of 225pts. That's a substantial amount tied up in a diversion.

The Falcon is it’s own thing though too and very strong for the cost. I use fire and fade to bring it back to safety once the dragons do their thing. Ya Overwatch is done individually after or when each unit moves (starts or ends not in between either). How a lot of people are doing it gives so much power to the Overwatching player when it’s not designed that way.

I use two falcons with two fire dragons unit. In the second falcon I put Eldrad. The fire dragons is full fusion gun so they can move, advance and fire at melta range easy with the Eldrad's support. Eldrad's Falcon come in rapid ingress and Fuegan deep strike normal. It's not that bad. Fuegan is not included in the unit if fire dragons. So he can move first and manage the overwatch. Last game he survived a heavy Flammer overwatch with one life point remaining... After they cleaned the objective. I prefer to loose the +1 to hit and get re rolls to hit and wound for both.

Are you going to do specific videos on the Phoenix Lords? I managed to get Fuegan at an absolute steal on ebay. I was thinking of running him in a falcon with a warlock conclave and farseer. He can pop up, support with destroying the heavy targets with the falcon and body block units with his toughness.

Yes I’m going to be covering Pl’s within the next couple of weeks! Running fuegan with a conclave is a very interesting idea! Pop a transport then shower your opponent in destructors and singing spears!

Fuegan has AP -4 on his Fire Axe, which means he rips and tears space marines without invuln

He's not bad into terminators or custodes either with his damage 3. I finished off 4 terminators with him recently in a tournament, then overwatched and killed a wounded gladiator that flew around a corner to try and gun Fuegan down (had 8 wounds left). This was after him and his squad had killed a Redemptor Dread. Then Fuegan, alone at this point, breached a ruin, killed an entire infiltrator squad, and then finished the game off by sending a fiery lance from Seersong through a whirlwind.

Fuegan's name clearly comes from Spanish fuego (fire). So definitely one should pronounce it Fu-E-Ga-N. Spanish is quite a phonetic language so there is not many tricky words. I like to say Fuegan is the most hispanoeldar, as Pedro Kantor is the most hispanomarine (but you know this was before Captain Messinus and stuff)...

i know im 2 months late but i kinda feel to use fire dragons to their fullest potential you need fuegan and a falcon and thats like 340 points all together and i probably would just fork in an extra 20 and get two fire prisms, i wont get the objective and stuff and having a falcon for multi purpose and stuff is nice but for 340 points for anti tank when i could be getting the incarnation of making my opponent quit (2 fire prisms) fire dragons seems to be kinda niche tbh

Dragons have a much higher damage rate than prisms under the right conditions and fuegan himself is hard to put down. Prisms are great too though just have a lower damage ceiling while being a bit safer

I feel like with the Dragons their thing is just having to be more cost efficient than taking anything with a AML/BL but their gun is slightly worse to make up for it, I imagjne once Codexes come out and weapons are costed again these guys will look alot better by comparison.

Still kinda sad that Fire Dragons largely got nerfed (lower toughness, no 12"/18" melta, no webway strike or battle focus) which limits their options There is one use for the Dragon Breath Flamer though, but its only in Boarding Actions. In a game type where you'll mostly see infantry, a heavy infantry, and even heavier stuff like battlesuits or wraiths, the Flamer becomes a good versatile choice and the Firepike becomes overkill. Fuegan being one to not lose his special ability in that game mode also makes them a primo choice with or without em

I can already tell you someone is going to get pissed if you wait to move your falcon and then they want to fire overwatch on something that moved earlier, if you say it's too late. The overwatch strategem needs to make that a bit more clear. Like once a units movement is finished and you agree you aren't going to fire overwatch you cannot select that unit as a target of overwatch once another unit has moved

I mean that’s how the rule is worded. I always ask my opponent after I move if they want to Overwatch there is no cheating going on there, once I go to move the next units it’s too late to go back in “hindsight”. Personally I think Overwatch is broken atm and more limits need to be placed on it it is extremely oppressive in certain circumstances

Fire dragons are a suicide nuke with Fuegan as a remaining surprise, their only problem is their S9, that makes them pretty bad VS vehicles.
