is there a workaround for sketchup pro 2020 as there is no Datasmith Plugin for Sketchup2020 ...the one for 2019 doesnt work for me

i can however export my 3d model as FBX and OBJ

The same is happening to me. When I press export in my SketchUp 2020 there’s not an option to export the file to Unreal Engine and I installed the correct Datasmith version.

Have you tried to save the model as a SKP18 version and then export the DataSmith file from there?

Does your monthly course cover importing geometry from Sketchup to UE4? Also, do you cover advanced materials? Thanks

really nice!!

hmmm nice tutorial but for some reason vertex painting is not working with datasmith files.. moreover in order to do vertex painting you need to have high number of polygons in every mesh (like walls for example).. any way how to adjust/set how detailed (triangles) will be a surface in sketchup ????

Bonne continuation !

@@FabriceBourrelly Am I wrong if I assume that in the end u didn't load this new video for importing the file on Unreal?

Very usefull video, i have a question, I have prepared archviz test interior scene with all the materials applied. i want to test lighting. i want to apply clay material ( like vray global material) to all objects just to test the lighting with fewer objects so that it takes less time to compute. after testing light disable global material and compute high resolution lighting with all the materials. i am not talking about 'lighting only ' mode in viewport inside ue4 editor. I s this possible ? I guess ,This method is also useful in producing uniform white light in whole scene without getting color bleeding in GI. How to do this? any help?
@FabriceBourrelly5 жыл бұрын
you could use simply an evironment colour to white, set lighting quality to 1 and render on medium, you're only computing the GI so the materials don't really make much difference.
