Agree. I have joined Discord channels to download a mod for a game. And once I join, I stare at the screen and cannot make head or tails out of anything that has to do with downloading any files. I'm hoping this video helps. Well, this video didn't cover downloading apps. But I did scroll down the channels on the left column and found the place where mod files existed. So guess this video did sort of cover it. ;)

This seems like a good tutorial for someone who already has a basic understanding of Discord. I'm still pretty lost. I feel like a geezer. I would consider myself a power-user as a PC enthusiast. I have built my own computers since about 2000, I'm a fairly active gamer but only play solo. I would love to play with others but Discord is absolutely not intuitive or noob friendly. Exploring Discord to figure out how it works is nothing short of excruciating.

I joined a discord group without a clue to how it works. I listened to this tutorial and I still have no clue. I get notifications telling me I was mentioned but I can't figure out why. Most of the posts I see are in different languages. I finally decided to listen to an expert. I'll listen to this video again to learn as much as I can.

This really cuts through a lot of FUD that I've been having with Discord; not so much fear, but the uncertainty of how to use it because it looked so cluttered, and the doubt of its overall usefulness, which is TBD. As it is, this is such a great overview and really focuses on the basics, reducing my overwhelm. I'm on two Discord "servers" (I guess that would have been "channels" or "groups" elsewhere), but Discord looked so complex that I needed some time and space to learn it. Thanks for helping to reduce the complexity; I just may add your server to my list, so that I can keep up. Thank you!

Sometimes I am surprised by the widespread adaptation of Discord because while I would probably give it an "A" for features it would get a "C" for ease of use/being intuitive. And the ridiculous amount of clutter makes it the garish "sparkly unicorn gif MySpace page" of communication apps.

The feature is really awesome! Discord all together is a total social media game changer. However, you're saying that artificial intelligence takes someone's voice print. I repeat, voice print. We don't know the extent of how it can be later used. Giving over my voice print to who knows who ... it sounds like it's fun until it's not.

Loved the video tutorial however for a real beginner like myself, there are still other things I want to know. Like when you click on a user profile pic a box comes up with all kinds of boxes, colors, emojis etc. however no one ever explains what all that is about or where it comes from. Also, on my iPad (where I use Discord) a lot of the features you highlighted in your video are either not shown or are not available, which is also confusing. These are the kinds of things that I would like to see in a tutorial somewhere.

I purchased an online course recently, and it was created in Discord, and I a was totally unfamiliar with Discord I was shocked that I was being forced to learn a new platform, and yes it is very intimidating in its Darkscreen Anime style graphics. But I am a curious type, and like an occasional challenge. I did figure out how to switch to the Lighter screen, that helped alot, especially since I hav old eyes. Wow, if this is the Beginners Intro, seems one could teach a course at a Junior College for a week or 2. I would go! thx for this... I am always having to explain all of this to ppl so I will be sharing ur video with many ppl over the coming months/yrs. Also, KRISP is in the realm of "well intended, thx for that but a total waste of time & resources". Shame on all companies that make mics; we all know they are the problem here... KRISP shouldn't even be a thing & I see KRISP as enabling the mic industries so they don't have to produce tech that isn't annoying. Oh & if they are beginners, they will need set up tutoring & they need to know all the ways of which something may not work right bcz of windows 10 issues.. like total noobs.
