I was on IRC back in 1993. So I have used chat programs for more than 3 decades. Discord STILL give me anxiety. The is just so much going on.

Hey great video, I take video classes on zoom and teach how to speak in Hindi language. I guess I could use Discord rather than Zoom? Please tell me am I able to host my audio files on Discord just like we did in Sound Cloud?

Computer and phone app are WAY different. Comp has alot more features and settings. You can get on Computer version on mobile devices though.

digital native here - discord is not intuitive. your colleagues may not be less savvy than you; its up to discord to be more easily inclusive. i work in SaaS, develop fundraising projects and sites and have done so for the better part of 20 years. I needed this video and I am not tech unsavvy. Perhaps give your team some...slack :)

You‘d usually install discord if you had a server to join 🤗 like whatsapp - you‘re not on whatsapp to find something new, you‘re there to stay in touch with people or a group you know if you don‘t have anyone or anything on discord, don‘t bother joining 😉

I created a sever in this video on the second half. But yes. You can create your own server with different channels. Make an audio channel and you can screenshare and video chat in those channels.

I didn’t understand discord either . The whole community thing got me unlike twitch where it’s straight forward , but now I’m seeing that maybe joining a community will have others in the community find you and follow you and then join your community from what it seems which is cool for building , but I’m here to learn it myself lol first time was a fail for me I just went back to twitch . Can we make money off this tho ? Can I set up donation links , what’s the base of this I’m thinking of it like a twitch but maybe it’s totally different of course community based but in the form of generating $ is my question . 😩 , best of luck

Sorry, but Discord has such a screwed up security system that it's nearly impossible to use. I click on the passkey, because it has apparently assigned my phone number to another account, and the procedure they recommend for *me* to remove that number from the other account doesn't work, and their help team doesn't even really try to help. They've clearly tied everything up into an impenetrable Gordian knot, with passkeys, key codes, 2 party security in which they've lost one of the parties, and all smothered in a sauce of impenetrable ignorance. What absolute nonsense. Take your app and shove it!
